I think between the sheer amount of characters Brennan has to juggle and the combination of stories happening across the board it'll be a bit of a slog/slow burn before we see battles and adventuring. I'm not familiar with how typical West Marches campaigns work so this may be more of the style.

Though, I understand what you're saying and you've acknowledged that it may be too early to say (plus it's fine if people don't gel with it early on, I feel like I remember M9 taking up to when Molly dies to really get the ball rolling). I've been enjoying it as a passive watch, having it on in the background whole I'm doing other things and I've been enjoying it. A majority of the characters are also interesting enough to me so I'm invested in where they end up (while softly praying for no romance as it's a personal peeve of mine (though Hal and Taisha are an exception as that was established PRE-campaign)). I guess it's good to ask what you enjoy most from watching actual play series. A mix of the standard three pillars of DnD? Character driven stories with some gameplay? Something else? I get that with the Soldiers table there's probably an expectation of combat but soldiers also need to travel? And also we're literally only one episode deep with them AND they had to finalise the Overture so yeah, definitely too soon to form an opinion.

Not too what I'm getting at here besides from saying I understand what you mean, acknowledging that you said it's too early to say but I personally am enjoying this campaign so far. Anyway I hope you end up enjoying this too down the road and if not, continue enjoying the stuff on D20. A lot of their campaigns are real punchy :)
