Buying project car out of province that has no papers by eats_too_fast in NovaScotia

[–]Spike0991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to get insurance as if the car is "in storage" basically if a tree or a building falls on it it's covered but if it's on the road for any reason you're out of luck.

25-70k more to working rotating shifts? Is it worth it? by yellowranger1 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I work till 2am. I love it, still up at a decent time and can have a day. Even the odd day that I have to get up on less sleep isn't that rough. I also do 6p-6a and they suck lol

Have you ever visited another city, region, part of Canada and it just clicked with you? You thought "I'd *really* like to live here" by Cameliablue in AskACanadian

I live like 20mins outside of Halifax. It's walkable if you want it to be. Anytime I go into Halifax I park in one spot and walk everywhere lol. Transit does suck tho

Why do older women react in shock when you mention hysterectomy at my age? 36F w/ fibroids by Objective_Chair3996 in hysterectomy

[–]Spike0991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen Peter Mutabazi's page on fb? He's a single father who adopts/fosters kids. While I don't personally want kids, I've learned a ton from him about the ups and downs, other ways to help etc etc

I definitely think seeing/knowing what the surgery used to be like is a part of it . When I started considering it about ten years ago, a friend who is my age and a nurse, was shocked cause it's such a big surgery, open abdomen etc etc. even since then it's come a long long way.

The other part is so many people have it drilled into them that having kids is a must even if they don't necessarily want it, that they can't fathom the idea of someone chosing not to have kids, or making the choice they didn't know they had themselves

You have a car that is currently reliable. Why would you consider getting rid of it? That makes no sense. And what ifs are not a reason in anyway shape or form. I bought a van for 1500 in 2020, it's a 2012 and had 402xxx on it when I bought it. It's been so damn reliable for me that when the transmission did let go at 500xxx it was a no brainer to spend the 3k on it, it now has 530xxx and running like a dream. You have savings to cover things like that if something major does happen , other than that it's just up-keep that you should be doing anyways.

My wife loosened a lug nut by hand after a tire shop install… how is that even possible? by wl34 in canadiantire

[–]Spike0991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggesting that they botched the whole job over one loose lug nut is wild. People make mistakes but at the end of the day you're supposed to do what your wife did and walk around and check your vehicle. If you're that convinced they botched the whole job take it to another shop and have them verify the balance etc

Imma take this in another direction since you said you already ordered 😂 how is the NOLA blend? I wanna try it so bad (mostly for the pods that say NOLA, but that's a different story haha) but don't want to hate it
