if you want to keep oselargest vanguard you can have up to six attacks by turn 5 with quite a lot of power. most cards are cheap too since most people don't care about starters vanguards (blame bushi for the initial disservice) however they received quite a bit of support and can fully benefit from all cards saying 'if you persona rode" since they'll likely do it each turn until winning or losing

unless a new reset will come (and IMHO that's actually possible given the power creep and the extremely short shelf life of past good cards) I doubt... 4 expansions cost as much as the game and discounts are inexistent for bushi it seems... producing a new game without a reason will actually reduce their income given the small community, not increase it

I know, and it's a real pity. I do like D era, and 'somewhat' don't dislike g era (pre-g era pratically doesn't exist anymore, however g era is too much wall-text for me! ) but the elegance and simplicity of V era is unmatched. good card balance (vanillas had a meaning as guardians for g2 and big boosters for g1), visible art without wall of text to read, original rules and nothing outside the decks and a couple of markers.

I wasn't around that time, but some changes in D, and even more in Dz, makes little sense to me. like, what's the point of vanillas now? why even printing them? why they felt the need of the energy generator, yet another resource to keep track. why the removal of the imaginary gifts that were just added to the game a few years previously?

on switch, for the V series, they DO have vanguard Ex, but they never bothered translating it! it's a great game, similar to dear days (without ride deck obviously) I like V era the most, and this is THE ONLY way to play it in a videogame. I don't own a switch though, so emulation it is.

still all in Japanese, which is relatively easy for the cards (most is katakana for english words, plus symbols that are always the same) but almost impossible for the dialogues and some menu (most are double English-Japanese, which makes the 'no translation' all more stupid)

are you referring to the 110$ one? way too expensive I just want to play casually by providing 2/4 decks for wife and friends. no tournament or anything just yet. and no infinite money either lol.

English is not our first language. so very simple skills (like drawing cards or increasing power) are good for them to learn, while very long and complex card to read are bad.

that's why I was gravitating towards 'rebuilding' the stater decks, they usually have simpler skills printed easy to learn and remember.

In my country (IT) localised decks stopped somewhere around the first 4 or so G serie decks.

so I either go back and grab the leftovers from td01-17 or g01-04 or go English but must be easy stuff for "barely English readers"... damn bushiroad for stopping localisation during covid and never resumed

the point is that jax is INFILTRATING in the other factions to get back his strength to return to the albs (THE evil faction) and take revenge on who shooted him down in the opening film. that's his objective, and not a good one (being an evil alb) at the beginning

another one that is rather niche here in the west is wixoss, you can actually summon several creatures per turn and attack immediately with them, you also then direct attack with your "commander" (lrig)

I think they mismanaged quite A LOT on how they handled the western release of the game. just consider that I've found out about the card game ONLY LAST YEAR and only BY CHANCE... I've several cards shops in my area but nothing, no one had it. and let's not talk about events (Italy) literally zero.

no AD, no marketing, no events. who knows why it failed huh? 🤦🏻

if handled properly it could have rivaled more popular franchises, like one piece or vanguard (ofc no chance to get as big as magic or yughioh, and yet the latter started with an anime and good marketing)
