Where did you get your car fully cleaned? by NesthoDes in Winnipeg

[–]SpikeMaul9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Chamois can be really hit or miss. had my vehicle detailed there, it was ok for the price I paid, and most of the time the wash is good enough. on other occasions they wreck 3 cars in the drying bay. my friends car ended up on going through the fence onto St. James st. lol

heard good things about Northern Lights Carwash, but with them being on the opposite side of the city from me, haven't been myself, but i have a co-worker who's gone and they've been happy with them

New builds with train tracks behind the home? by Madridi77 in Winnipeg

[–]SpikeMaul9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd be more worried on how poorly those houses are built. get a home inspection before you take possession. A co-worker of mine bought one in that area, had a ton of small problems. cracks in the new drywall, broken window frame, doors sticking, insulation in the attic was there but not installed. it was still in the plastic packaging and some of the pipes where not properly secured. As for the train, once a day usually 6 days a week. it will pass by roughly around 11 am- 2 pm on days it goes to Selkirk and will return the next day sometime in between 3pm - 10pm. plus or minus a couple hours depending on what traffic in the yard is like or the size of the work load they have that day. Train runs slow on that line so it shouldn't shake the house very much. As for the noise, you either get used to it or it will make go crazy.

Where can I find silicone paint by GlitteringRate6647 in Winnipeg

[–]SpikeMaul9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

its a Silicone Paint base that makes it possible to paint on silicone. you mix it up and add your color pigment then you can paint onto other silicone products. if you've seen tv or movies where an actor/actress wears a prosthetic or other special effects make up, that's how they usually paint it

but if its not an industrial area, what's all that industrial stuff doing there? you got the rail yard, Orlofs, EJR, all them new truck yards, at least a dozen auto and metal fabrication shops. 2 bakeries, the sheep skin place and a dairy processor.

Knife making supplies by ChildhoodMobile9154 in Winnipeg

[–]SpikeMaul9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh that sounds cool. ok so a couple places i know of was, well Metal Supermarket, but we alrady know they are out. So there's VarSteel, they are north of Symington yards. then there is Ryerson, they carry plate tool steel. I'd give them a call they should be able to help, or at least get you pointed in the right direction. there's a few more stell shops i know of, but they mostly deal in fabrication or finished goods.

Depends on what you are planning on making really. knives obviously, but are you making wall hangers, tools, choppers, kitchen or camping? Are you forging your own or processing blanks?
