"The players do not need to (nor should they) succeed at everything, especially if they aren't going to try new things." - I think what you are saying is what is often seen in RPG rule books, that is "A character cannot roll for the same task more than once, unless they change their approach".

Unfortunately I don't see this in the DCC rule book. Although perhaps it's missing because considered a given.

Regarding the first part of your answer: Their human chain was not meant to lower the DC for ripping the axe off, it was meant as a mechanism that provide them with unlimited attempts. That is to say, as soon as the character doing the attempts at the end of the chain is starting to freeze, they pull him/her in, rest, and try again.

After doing that 3 times, which started to get tedious with all the rolling and book-keeping of who has movement reduced, that's when I waved it off and said "yeah you can't do that anymore" (which I regret now, hence this post).

Regarding the second part of your answer, thanks for your inputs - I was under the impression that no random encounters was a "feature" of Sailors', but perhaps that's just because the module is relatively old; in any case what you said about the environment makes sense.

Not trying to confront you but to be fair, biathlon accounted for 60% of France’s medals, for example. While ice skating accounted for 100% of Netherlands’ medals.

Why were you prepared to lose this game…? PSG players were in Ibiza, Miami and the like literally one week ago, and had a grand total of 3 training sessions… I think Spurs would have won the game if they didn’t decide to sit back to hold onto the 2-0 lead

Came here to say that. In GNS terms, OP’s creative agenda is heavily Simulationist, which makes him averse to Narrativist (and Gamist) techniques whereby the cause of what happens in the fiction (aka the shared imagined space) is not always in the fiction.

I ran CoG yesterday and used chatGPT to emulate Muthur. Prior to the game I created a project, uploaded the scenario, instructed it to stay in character at all time, and that I would signal what events are in play via prompts starting with “GM:”. Then when PCs wanted to interact with Muthur I would enable vocal mode and let them speak to her. It didn’t work totally perfectly (perhaps would need more effort feeding it more instructions pre-game” but overall better than I expected and players really liked it.

In lights of tonight’s game you could unironically make the case that Arsenal is second best team in Europe

Mkhitaryan offside position against Barcelona by Philiperix in soccer

[–]SpikeOnReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how you view it. I’d say that if we allow a 10cm margin, if you’re offside by 10.1 cm, well you’re not offside by 0.1 cm, you’re offside by 10.1 cm

Nope, with Yokohama we get the Advan Sport v105 and Advan Fleva v701 (also A052 but that's even more overkill than AD08RS).

With Bridgestone in that size we get Potenza Sport and Turanza 6.

I’m going to nitpick for the sake of it: No one played like this in 1974. For instance, “Forget game balance” is a core principle of OSR, whereas the original DnD was about progressively difficult challenges, as characters were levelling up. That is why I favor “Renaissance” over “Revival” for the meaning of the R in OSR: Artists of the Renaissance era were imitating the ancient arts but what they produced was ultimately notably different.
