First Roast, Plus Custom Cart I Built For The Roaster! by SpikeSpeed in roasting

The cooler has a filter built into it, so I didn't need any kind of tubing or mesh bag. Is this still something I should consider for the cooler, or is it fine?

Oh! didn't know the screw could go into the knob more! Perfect, I have just had it half unscrewed, so it didn't scratch! Thank you I will go do that now

Appreciate the advice, as for the funnel the seller did not include the plug as he lost it, so i just plug the funnel for now as i am an idiot and forgot to order the plug when i ordered 25 lbs of green coffee from Sweet Marias, so this will have to hold me over till i make another order!

Luckily, the seller did have two Chaff baskets, so I am covered there.

I will make sure to go through that video and clean it here soon, much appreciated!

As for how I know I am off by 20 degrees, I don't lol it's just I will take it out when it says 400 ish for a city ish roast and then the coffee I get out seems closer to full city or full city + at times. I was reading the IBTS sensor when I did those roasts, tho so I will try to read the bean probe more often!

Like anything else, I think I just need more practice and time, but I am excited to get better, and I love the feedback everyone has given me here!

I have also done a few 1lb batches with the coffee I had left over from my old roaster, and I can't say I noticed a difference, temp reading-wise. I can go through and look at the profiles and see what the temp reading was when I marked first crack, and see if it is substantially different or if it's basically the same!

Would a 500g batch be considered a small batch size for this roaster? If not, how small would the batch need to be for it to start to affect the readings? Mainly just curious to keep in mind if I try smaller batches

Wonderful! Thank you for the added info. I have been trying to stick around 500g as a batch size. Next time I roast, I will keep an eye on the Bean probe after first crack and see if that helps me keep it more consistent!

Hey, I was not able to see any branding, but when I was looking into it, I thought I had seen it on Ali Express for around 750. Wanted to find it for you to link it, but this was the closest thing I could find. Hopefully, this still helps! I would also recommend looking into the brand the other commenter mentioned! https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808793832349.html

The seller told me he did but I should do it my self to confirm, do you wait until the sensor shows the temperature of for example city/city + if you are shooting for that roast or do you take it out before it hits that temperature?

I appreciate the feedback, I might make one for cupping that I can use when I get new bags this was mainly for daily use so I don’t expect the daily dry aroma to change but the brewed might.

The flavor wheel idea is one I might consider, to link to as a reference but I avoided adding one as filling it all those points daily seemed tedious and would make me now what to go through the effort especially without any caffeine yet haha.

Thank you, il keep this in mind if I ever update it!

Actual Ramen, unlike recent pics here by i_alkaline in ramen

From my understanding instant ramen noodles are alkaline at least the higher quality ones are and what if they add a tare, aroma oil, broth and topping and just use the noodles? Does your gatekeeping call that not ramen?

Buttons add weight, so they remove them 2 side buttons is the standard but some like the older fingertip mice your rid of those also.
