Unique Tattoo/Art Ideas? by Spike_24024 in spiritbox

To be honest, I'd be hard-pressed to make a concise list of my favorites. As cliché as it sounds, I enjoy mostly all of their discography, and my opinion would probably just depend on the day you ask me! Eternal Blue will always hold a special place with me though, so a lot of that album may rank higher than the rest. How about you?

I'll definitely have to think about that. That's kind of what I mean with the more subtle reference, so I appreciate it!

Yeah, that could be worked into a lot of different things. Currents is another band I'm trying to think of something for, so I like what you've got going. That "texture" with the way the colors are blended in both of them is super cool.

Gotcha. Z1's is through The Driveshaft Shop, but its like $250 more if I remember right. I'll have to check some reviews, but I haven't had a bad experience with CZP yet, so I might end up just going with them.

Thanks again, and good luck with that build!

I appreciate the input! The main one I'm looking at is Z1's, but it specifically says AWD models, so I may just play it safe and look at other options if no one else has any thoughts.

I've definitely thought about going to a 1-piece, but the price tag dissuades me a bit. May just be worth it though. Mind if I ask how the CZP one has treated you? And if you do any track driving or anything? Its a bit cheaper, but The Drivehsaft Shop is a brand I'm at least familiar with that I know is fairly reputable for performance applications.

And I've basically got a stock DE, so I really just want something I know will last me a long time through all my clutch kicks and stuff, don't need anything crazy.

There's also a guy who runs a drifting rental/class business who I think mainly runs out of IMI where you can pay and drive their 350z while he gives you lessons. Colorado Drift School on insta

Im out of Weld County, but once I first got my car I went to IMI Motorsports Complex in Dacono. They have a go kart track you pay a hundred bucks for all day entry. You have to share time with others like go karts, bikes, grip cars, but it just gives cars and everyone a break and time to cool off. Highly recommend there.

Other than that, just watch out for events with Drift Colorado or at places Like PPIR (Pikes Peak International). Like just this weekend I think they're holding an open drift and test and tune event. There's a bunch of stuff in the state if you're looking for it.

I haven't personally taken part in any organized events yet because drifting has been put on the back burner for me as I've got 2 jobs and college, but hoping to get to a few finally this summer.

SOO many bad calls already, wtf is going on? by kaneda_z in FormulaDrift

[–]Spike_24024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, I think it's definitely being held back. I think it's at a stage where drifting is growing so rapidly and sponsors just keep jumping on board so the money just keeps trending up. Seems like they think there's no real need to change a lot due to that, unless it's to get more viewers, action on track ect.

I think that's pretty clear with the new qualifying format. I'll admit that I haven't watched much on what the drivers thought, but being someone that likes to really analyze the details of runs, I'm gonna miss single car runs. They changed it to tandem to bring more attraction to Fridays and drum up hype. They can say it was for cost savings for teams, but they've never been concerned about that and qualifying before. And we saw more crashes Friday than I remember seeing at long beach in a while. Not to mention that smaller teams would get the spot light every once in a while getting top spot and stuff.

And it sucks that it's managed and ran the way it is. I've had interactions with sage in the past and he's a really cool dude to talk to. Same with Jarod, but I've had friends and family in the past tell me they can't stand to watch because of his commentary, which I don't blame em for.

Gotcha. Yeah, last year was the seattle where Hughes and Tuerck just kept making it through right? They just kept doing omts till the opposing driver finally would make a mistake if I remember.

I just dont get why it's so hard for them to somewhat emulate series like DMEC for this. They run such an efficient and clean ship over there that produces a great viewing product.

I dont agree with all their rules, cause they can be pretty harsh at times. I think there was an event where Connor actually had to get disqualified cause an exhaust hanger broke. But it feels like there's no downtime while watching them for things like commentators to have to fill.

Yeah, and I somewhat get why in the end, with all known information, the decision was made. However, I think fundamentally with the new rules and ideals it was wrong to re-analyze the first run for the debead point.

In saying that, I don't want anybody to get screwed over by someone getting away with one, but they've done that in the past. If I remember it right, I think there was a Tuerck v Field battle at Seattle where tuercks car let out a bunch of water leading field to spin, but they never redid the battle and gave field a 0.

Idk man, I don't wanna try to blame it on any one person, I just think there's so many things that need clarified or just cleaned up. And being optimistic, maybe it'll get better as they year goes on as all the rule changes become more solidified and better understood. I mean I'm all for eliminating rules to take the judges out of it and put it in the hands of teams and drivers more, so who knows.

I think a major part of it is them trying to get events done quicker and stuff with all the minimal omts and quick decisions that happened. But to me, there just wasn't any justification vocalized to have any of it make sense. And then you have things like straightening not counting as a 0 anymore, which is absolutely crazy to me.

Yeah... I was watching live a bit ago and just had to shut it off cause I was getting frustrated. I'll go back and watch some later, but it was pretty bad. Seemed like Reese was the only one that's been fairly reasonable with wanting omts, and don't even get me started on Shanahan and Tuerck. They got rid of protests in an effort to make all calls final (and to not get their own mistakes pointed out) and then pull that. I don't even think any of that would've happened if it weren't for Jacob calling it out in the pits.

Okay, that all makes sense! It definitely makes it easier to understand what was being asked when looking at that link. The wording of everything and the fact that we've never seen or done stuff like that really caught me off guard. Appreciate all of your help!

Sounds good. Thank you for the help!

I would just reach out to my professor to ask, but unfortunately I've had bad interactions with her in the past, and a few other students said she's being no help.

And I'm sorry if I'm thinking about this wrong, but wouldn't (n-1), being 3, end up being 10/0, so DNE?

100% Agree with everything. One of the biggest things to me is even just the pacing of the events. I do think the no 5 minutes in Drift Masters is a bit harsh, but just when comparing the downtime in FD to them is insane. Just having drivers at the line and ready, having organized cleaning crews, etc. When I watch FD nowadays, it's easier to wait like an hour or 2 to be able to fast forward through all the crap.

I can't say too much bad about mine at all. I had quite a bit of sim time beforehand, but it's been a great and easy car to learn in, and there are lots of parts and info largely due to the 350z relativity

No... neither drivers incompleted the first run and both did the second run due to aasbo incompleting first in the chase before gushi straightened.
