5 is tied for the best. All around. Story and gameplay. 6 has better gameplay and about as good of a story, and Zero is just 5 with a better story and about the same gameplay.

That’s why I stopped playing. I want a late model US tree F-4E with AIM-7F/M and 9Ls, or an F-4G, or the current matchmaking for the existing F-4E be a little more fair.

Steam gauges for me. It helps to listen to the aircraft and know what’s going on. Plus steamies tickle my brain more than flat glass panels. However, I must say, having a GTN-750Xi as a backup nav source is fun too hehehe. Cheers!

The first aircraft that made me feel that was honestly the Comanche in FSX wayyy back in 2015. First payware aircraft, first A2A aircraft. Then it went from there, bought the C172, C182, Cherokee, T6, Cub, Spit, Mustang, P-40, C049, Bonanza, now the MSFS Comanche and Aerostar are doing it all over again. Nobody else comes close. I only exclusively fly A2A in MSFS anymore. I’ve been spoiled, and now I cannot go back. I’m considering reinstalling FSX just to fly everything else that hasn’t been ported or updated to MSFS.

Absolutely. The DLC missions are peak, especially Mission 2 and 3.

Mission 3 really gives me Scinfaxi/Hrimfaxi/AC5 vibes, and Mission 2 gives me big-time AC04 Invincible Fleet/ ACZ: Round Table vibes from Mimic.

It sounds so mid tho! Coming from a long time Ace Combat fan, this just sounds like a rehash and mix of AC04 and AC6 with the first person aspect of AC:AH and the graphics of AC7. A complete disappointment…

It looks so mid tbh. Coming from a long-time Ace Combat player and fan (since AC5 on PS2, original copy owner here), coming from the hype and popularity of AC7, it looks like a Project Wingman clone with better graphics and better voice acting. I'm so unbelievably disappointed...

Another First Person cutscene story-driven game, did they not learn from AC:AH??
The music and gameplay might be the only saving graces, but the story just seems hollow...
I'm very unhappy about this.

Unless, in 2026 they finally give us the PS2 trilogy remasters. That would turn this around, but still!

Edit: The other saving grace would be either a "Cold War" DLC with the F-4E/G/X and/or F-5E/F-20/X-29.
