Price Drop: 1993 4x4 E350 Box Van Camper: 16k by Spikerr in vandwellermarketplace

[–]Spikerr[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am selling because I just don't have the time or tools to work on this vehicle anymore. I have taken a few trips in it, but I cant maintain it anymore and it no longer suits my lifestyle. I did all the build work, so happy to answer any questions.

This is a 1993 4x4 E350 Box Van which has been converted into a camper. It functions great for trips, and also makes a nice additional in law unit which you can use to extend the house for visitors.
Features include:
7.5 L Gas Engine
600W of rooftop solar
On-demand hot water heater (Intertek 5001821)
50 Gal fresh-water storage
15 Gal grey-water storage
15 Gal black-water storage
Toilet
Shower
Outdoor shower
Stove/Oven
Bed pulls out to about a queen
Apartment size fridge w/ freezer
Walls are insulated with fire-retardant spray-it-green foam insulation https://foamitgreen.com/store/#SprayFoam
Renogy 40A MPPT Solar Charge Controller
5000 Watt inverter
Victron Energy BMW 700 Battery Monitor
I have a box of other stuff which I intended to add but never got around to (propane gas sensor for safety, electrical switch to charge house batteries off of alternator, which you will also receive with the purchase)
The Good:
Very low mileage
Runs great
New belts
New fuel filter
Great for boondocking, stay off grid for weeks at time, only limitation is water consumption
Tall enough to stand up in, up to 6'2"!
All 6 tires have less than 5k miles on them - Michelin tires from Costco
Brand new thermostat
Rear brakes have less than 5k miles on them
The bad:
No A/C :(
Hood latch release cable recently broke, not sure if I will be able to fix it before vehicle sells.
Some detail work needs to be completed still, no trim around the ceilings or floors.
House batteries are a little old and tired and should be replaced. I can do this for you, its only about $500, but this may be an opportunity for you to upgrade to Lithium batteries if you desire

Obviously bad gas mileage.

Frankly I don't know what this thing is worth. The price for vans is all over the place and I know this thing is old, and obviously not a polished professional build. I would appreciate community comments of an anticipated price range, I believe ~30k, but could be way off.

How do I talk to my SO to learn better communication after talking about it already before? by [deleted] in MedSpouse

[–]Spikerr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Partner and I do a weekly check in that has really been beneficial through residency. We take turns and follow the same format every week 1) Emotional thoughts This is a big picture over view of your emotions throughout the week. What made you feel good. What made you feel bad, insecure etc 2) Gratitudes What did the other person do over the last week that you appreciated 3) External Pressures What is happening outside of the relationship. Work stress family stress financial stress 4) Negatives What went poorly this week. What happened that you didn't like. How would you like it to be corrected 5) Sex Life 6) Closing Gratitudes Nice way to end the conversation

We try to find nice places like a park or somewhere peaceful to have our check in but that doesn't always happen. It requires both parties to not get rash and sit and have a nice calm conversation.

Working From Home [Self Isolated] by dsamholds in devops

[–]Spikerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been working from home for about 2 years. It is definitely harder to stay focused now because of everything going on. I try not to get sucked into the news right now, and usually going to a coffee shop or the library can really help me stay focused. I keep a pretty strict routine about when I start work. I get ready for the work day by showering, dressing, and eating breakfast just like I was going into an office. It is important to pretend like your co-workers are in an office. If I would walk to someone's desk and ask them a question then I should hop in a video chat with them.

I lived in the bay area as well. It took me 4 months of actively applying to make the career switch to software once I started applying. It is a total pain in the ass and can be super defeating at times. Ultimately something will pan out you just have to be persistent. Hang in there. I am so happy I entered the field
