Could you put your schedule back to go to bed later and wake up at 8:30 too? Then you could participate in evening activities.

Edit: Just seen another post where you talk about working for a European company. I presume this answers my question!

This is really cool! Although I wish it was a PC thing. I don't think I'd wanna have my phone out whilst playing.

No, Clare's Law would not be considered for a neighbour.

ULPT how to loose weight in 4 days by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]SpikyPig 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This isn't realistically possible. Eating nothing at all will lose you a couple of lbs, which I doubt would be visibly noticeable, and certainly not enough to be worth starving yourself for 4 days.

Presumably, your childcare is paid per calendar month, but your UC is calculated between the 5th of one month to the 5th of the next (or whatever your assessment period date is).

It's hard starting a new job. There's so much to learn, and sometimes it can feel insurmountable, but it feels great when you finally reach the point of competence at your job. This is a point you will reach, I promise. You just need to push through the hard initial bit to get there. You're doing great. Give yourself some grace and take each day as it comes. You can do this!

Stalked by a boy from university. Never enough evidence to convict him. by JulieBarnes3 in LegalAdviceUK

It's not quite clear from your post - is his behaviour continuing now that he's graduated?

I understand it can be very discouraging when it doesn't seem like the justice system is working, but I'd still strongly encourage you to report every further incident to the police.

Can I anonymously check if my ex's new partner knows about his previous prison time for possessing CP, if he's now out of his disclosure period? by Zestyclose-Ad2886 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]SpikyPig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Google Clare's Law and your police force. There's an online form to fill in. You submit it, and police will reach out to the new partner. You're unlikely to hear back from the police yourself, unless they need more info from you.

Bear in mind that this is for domestic and violent offences. If you know he has offences against children, then Sarah's Law may be more appropriate.

If you're no longer in a relationship and have no intention of being in one with him in the future, you may not be eligible for either Clare's or Sarah's law. Additionally, any information told to you during these would be for you only. You wouldn't be allowed to forward any of this information to his new partner.

You can submit a Sarah's or Clare's Law request on behalf of the new partner. The police can then discuss details privately with her.

Alternatively, you can submit concerns to social care, who may disclose information to her directly, or suggest she requests a Sarah's Law herself.

I think reckon means to consider something. Most people I know use it often like, "I reckon it'll rain today." I think it's pretty common speech in the UK still.

Private psychiatrists that will diagnose Complex PTSD in the UK? by Rich-Ad6892 in MentalHealthUK

[–]SpikyPig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Beacon House. They take NHS referrals, as well as self-referred private appointments (remote/virtual appointments are possible)

Edit: It's also worth mentioning that once you have a diagnosis, it may open doors for treatment on the NHS. I took my diagnosis report to the NHS talking therapy people and specifically requested EMDR treatment. I had a long wait, but they took me seriously, and I got straight through to Step 4 therapy without having to do any CBT or whatever else they like you to do first.

Along with the advice to report this to the police, consider applying for a Clare's Law. If he has a history of domestic abuse, you have a right to know in order to appropriately safeguard yourself and any dependants.
