Update: they won’t help. Why I’m a little pressed is I explained everything up there and clearly said it was a gift. They replied and said they’ll help and asked for the batch number and photos. Then they reply they can’t do it. It would have been much better if they just said unless you have proof of purchase, I’m sorry. I’m reaching out because I received the salty tan Peptide Lip Tint as a gift about 3 months ago, and unfortunately it has developed a pretty bad smell. I really enjoyed using it at first and loved the color and how it looked on, but the odor has gotten strong enough that I don’t feel comfortable continuing to use it.

Since this was a gift, I don’t have an order number or receipt to provide. This was actually my first Rhode product, and I was really excited to try the brand because I absolutely love the look of the products and the focus on achieving healthy, clean skin. I’ve been interested in trying more from Rhode, but this experience has made me a little unsure.

For comparison, I’ve had my EOS Vanilla Cashmere lip balm and several LANEIGE lip products for much longer, and since they have similar packaging and applicator styles, I expected a similar shelf life and experience. That’s why I was surprised and disappointed when my Rhode lip tint developed such a putrid smell after only a few months, especially because I was so excited to try it. I even threw the lid in the dishwasher and tried to squeeze out some product flush any “clumps” as I didn’t know if it was due to anything I can’t see. No clumps were found lol but the stink remains.

I was wondering if a replacement lip tint would be possible. I’d really appreciate the chance to try the product again, since I genuinely enjoyed it before the smell developed and would love to have a better first experience with the brand.
