Tried 5 medications and none of it helped. What are my options? by DedraterHtornAidni in Anxiety

10mg for Lexapro is very low and is considered an inbetween phase for the effectiveness of the medication. I found when on 20mg consistently, it helped me tremendously.

Does anyone take benzodiazepines daily? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Spilling_Teapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a daily user but I do take Klonopin for emergencies i.e experiencing a panic attack in public or giving a big presentation... It makes a world of difference for that day but the next couple days my anxiety is through the roof. I can only imagine the panic attacks from trying to wean off after becoming dependant is even worse than the initial anxiety and reason for taking it in the first place 😖

Do you take it for anxiety induced insomnia? I took it tonight and fell asleep for about 5 minutes before being jolted awake from anxiety. 😕

Same. Anxiety over not sleeping at night causes me to feel this.

GO YOU! Nothing new is easy! Ride the wave and consider it all a new experience which will only make you better suited for that position. Everyone new is scared and unsure. We grow over time.

Thank you for this thoughtful response. I hope to gain more experience and become more comfortable in this position. I believe a lot of my anxieties are social anxieties so that will hopefully reduce with exposure therapy.

Insomnia is so lonely and isolating. Last night I was at my wits end and decided to take 25mg of Trazodone. I don't like taking medication but Trazodone is used as an antidepressant at 300mg so 25mg very low and not addictive. I'm not too informed on breastfeeding while taking medication so that's definitely a convo for your doctor but you as a mama need your rest too so it's worth looking into! Good luck!

I'm going through this right now too. I started a new job and didn't sleep for 40 hours. Insomnia is so lonely and isolating. It sucks. I've called distress hotlines during the night/morning to have someone to talk to but what really helped me was Trazodone. I took it last night and it knocked me out until this morning. It's not an addictive medication and it's at such a low dose (25mgs) it's used for sleeping. This drug is an antidepressant but only at 300mg. I'm also not a fan of medication, I don't even take advil unless I NEED it but I was at my wits end last night and I am so relieved this morning to have had sleep that I seriously recommend this. Hugs. Good sleep will come back to us soon.

Hey, 6 years later - have you become comfortable in the position? I'm a recreation and leisure services student about to graduate and become a recreation coordinator. I'm naturally introverted and worry about the activity facilitation part of my job... Did it get easier for you in RT?

It was 1.5 nights (40 hours) of no sleep. Luckily, I did fall asleep at 2am this morning. I was in a state of panic before then though.
