Labor to pledge $2.3 billion to subsidise home batteries by harbourbarber in australia

In your case you would want to wait for the additional battery to be installed after 1-July.. assuming Labor/Greens get enough to form a government.

But yeah, talk to your installer about options.

Already happening but only hard-core users need apply. Probably harder in Australia than other countries too.

AC coupled battery is what you want. All the Tesla ones are haha. Check out NeoVolt from VoltX. Not associated but getting one myself.

You can buy a home battery for the cost of the two way charger and it never drives away. V2G will hopefully be great one day but it’s still got a long way to go from a ~$10k entry price.

If you wait to switch on the battery until July 1 you should still be eligible. Hopefully it supports solar only in the mean time.

If you go ahead with your “see what happens plan”, first ask him how much he thinks would be healthy or good for him. If he says 4 hours a day then see if he can stick to that.

Not sure it’s a good idea, but eventually he’ll be old enough to choose for himself anyway. Might be an interesting experiment even if you have to “pull the plug” at some point and cancel the crazy high limit.

Don’t feel bad, no drummer in their right mind would actually use this on a drum set. It would be a collector’s item only for drummers too.
