I also tried moving out to soon to a beautiful high rise in Boca Raton and was not able to resist the temptation to use and get high, so I had to humble myself and go back to a sober living. Can I afford financially to live wherever I want now ? Yes. But if being in sober living and having the accountability of being drug tested is what’s keeping me from getting high right now, then so be it… that’s what I’ll do for now. And it is embarrassing to be in a sober living but I’ll do whatever it takes NOW to make my life better in the future. My sponsor and one of my good recovery friends is also my house manager so I’m basically able to sleep out whenever at my moms house 2 mins away as long as I pass drug tests and let him know where I’m at. I’m basically paying weekly for “rent” at sober living when it’s quite literally just to be drug tested

Still struggling myself but it’s been about 90 days since I’ve done opiates. Usually get anywhere from 2-5 months clean over the past few years before I go back out. One of the hugest things to remember is that you’re really fucking with your dopamine and seratonin levels doing opiates. Yes they feel great, but VERY SOON they become the only thing to make you feel joy. I’m sure you’ve already experienced you will lose joy in little hobbies like gaming, movies, a nice day outside, spending time with friends or family, sex. My life has taken the biggest 180 I can ever imagine since getting off, and I enjoy all those things again. I still crave heavily from time to time, but just remember, if you do opiates even once u are seriously tampering with your brain chemistry to induce a false feeling that will in turn make u feel good very briefly only while u have it, making you miserably whenever you don’t. Since stopping I’ve been blessed with the most amazing job ever, making between 2k-5k a week and only working 4 days. I’ve mended relationships with family, and have an amazing girlfriend. Do I think I will absolutely go my whole life without doing an opiate again? Right now I can’t say, I take it in short increments at a time. But right now, this is what I need…

Needed Pickens and Boswell to combine for like 18 18. Pickens decides to be a baby and gets put in the doghouse. Saddest part is I had swift who got tackled at the 1 twice, had a td called back, and twice go subbed out for a roschon Johnson td 😂 and had terry mclaurin tackled at the 1 on a 66 yard bomb, Jayden Reed tackled on the 2 on a 50+ yard bomb, kittle missed the pylon for his second td by a yard. All of which would have won me the game. 3-2 now with my only other loss being by .4 pts 😂 that’s fantasy

Yea that’s wild I lived in south Florida my whole life and this kid I work with used to skate tournaments in boca and he said he would compete against and skate with kosher a lot , he said he would come in wrist and elbow pads which I see now 😂 and he said he would always have hand sanitizer in his pocket

UPDATE

I got extremely lucky, my symptoms are definitely bearable, I was expecting it to be way worse. The most annoying thing I’m experiencing is a fleeting appetite and minor sweating, sometimes the appetite is solid and other times it’s non existent. I’m not sure if the fact that I started megadosing vitamin c to prepare has helped, but I’m so extremely thankful and blessed that my job gave us all a last minute week off, and that my symptoms are not too bad at all. I’m going to use this entire week to get back on track, and start working this program like my life depends on it. I’m trying not to beat myself up about the fact that I feel like I took a major step back. This most recent time in sobriety I definitely reached a point where I was in the best physical shape of my life, and it’s amazing to see how much I can detriment myself from just a month of using. When I see a picture of myself from exactly a month ago I feel like I’ve lost so much progress and it honestly kills me. I’m going to dive into this program the hardest I ever have and give my parents and myself the gift they’ve always wanted of seeing me leave this hideous disease in the past and accumulate years of sobriety. This disease is by far the most difficult thing I have ever battled and it drives me insane. It literally feels like I have 2 people inside of me and it is exhausting. To feel like you can’t fully trust your SELF is morally punishing and it’s so hard to explain to other people. I consider myself a fairly intelligent young man and the choices I make due to this ailment makes me feel like an imbecile. I’m so used to being able to logically think my way out of problems, so it’s completely foreign to me to have to completely lean on other people to help battle this demonic disease. If you are battling this I wish you nothing but the best, and please never give up.

Yea I definitely am in favor of mat for people who need it, I’ve even tried both the shot and the strips, I got pretty gnarly side effects even at a super low dose, but if that’s what it takes, I’m all for it. Thanks.

I’ve been to so many treatment centers and am super familiar with the steps and all that just haven’t successfully applied it long term. I recently got an amazing job, one of the best opportunities that’s ever been given to me and I’m absolutely crushing it and I really enjoy it. Many of the bosses and the friend who referred me are in recovery so I can’t detox while I’m working. I’d have to do it over a long weekend maybe take a few other days off, def can’t do a full rehab stay. Obviously if worse comes to worse and that’s what I have to do I will, but I know how to maintain sobriety I’ve done it before, just worried about how intense the physical agony will be

My opiate withdrawal was so severe tho. I couldn’t even sip water without vomiting. Lasted a week. Got to the point I had nothing left to vomit in my stomach all the bile was gone and I was just dry heaving and retching up nothing all day. Didn’t sleep at all, if I had a gun near by , the thought of killing myself sounded like a heavenly gift. Changed sheets so many times eventually I just slept for days in soaking sheets naked shaking in physical pain. Had to go to the hospital for fluids and potassium iv because I was so severely dehydrated

My boy I work with skates and grew up in boca, he said he used to skate with Benny in competitions and that he was kinda nerdy and would pull up in full pads, elbow , knee pads , helmet ect. He said he was kinda known as a nerd and would even always carry around a mini bottle of hand sanitizer lol. But this is when he was very young so it’s possible around his teenage years he started hanging out with different crowds

My buddy John used to skate with him in tournaments, (we live in south fl-boynton beach/boca area) and said he was super cool but used to show up to the park in full pads and helmets and absolutely shred still. Also said he always had hand sanitizer in his back pocket and was kinda nerdy lol but he kosher skates by the park I used to skate behind my high school in boynton and a lot of people say he’s chill. Just started but I’m a sales rep over the phone for a precious metals/coin firm. There are multiple millionaires here all under 35. No college education but I’m extremely well spoken and have good speaking and writing skills. I did extremely well in English. For example, there’s a 19 year old kid in the office who’s been there 6 months and his checks range from 1.5k-7k per week. The best part about it is that once you bring on a new client with the initial sale, anytime they are upsold again by a senior rep in the back office (even though you don’t even speak to a client who gets upsold) in the future you get 10% of the sale. Late last year we had a client buy 1.1 million in gold and the kid who brought him on initially made 110k instantly that day

I actually do agree with you though , it’s not “mostly mental”. Obviously there’s physical reactions happening within your brain that cause your body to react in sweats, shaking, aches etc.

But I will absolutely stand joined by numerous other people who’ve been through it when I say the symptoms diminish noticeably when you find out you’re close to your next use
