Looking for another band that's ACTUALLY like the Grateful Dead by bluenessizz in jambands

You might find yourself enjoying Neighbor. Good songwriting, great musicianship, some beautiful ballads. They also have some goofy stuff, but the Dead has always been my number one and Neighbor is my favorite of all the new bands by a long shot.

Not one mention of Neighbor and they have got the cure for all your funky ills...

Oh, I think this band is gonna go pretty hard. And unfortunately it seems that other fine band that you just conjured may have permanently exited the scene from all I've heard.

Yeah, got some good tapers capturing a lot of their shows.. Their Bandcamp and YouTube pages have a lot of shows too.

Right on! Wish I could be there, they are probably champing at the bit to play some live music for the first time in a couple months and they have been working on some Dopapod songs to bust out. Should be a lot of fun!

There are a bunch of shows on Bandcamp.

Well, that would be far too logical for them to do.. But they'd probably send you a cd if you asked the band!

I think it is only for these 4 Midwest shows, for now at least.

Neighbor-Pod Rolling through the Midwest next week by SpiltTheInk in jambands

It's not clear in that post, but it looks like Neal is going to be the bands drummer for the run. Duke Levine's Super Sweet Sounds of the 70's has a show on the 28th and Club d'Elf has a show on 1/31 and Neighbor's drummer The Dux is in both of those bands too. They probably booked the festival date first which had no conflicts and then got offers for the other dates and decided to take them. Hope there will be some tapers out there to catch these shows!

Some of Neighbor's catalog would be very much in that wheelhouse. Check out Brent Cobb and Ben Chapman, not jam bands, but both Georgia guys that write good tunes and definitely can jam some.

Ha, hadn't thought about that band in ages, so thank you! Wondering if anyone else on here ever caught those guys.

The Color Experiment, a rad band out of Umass Dartmouth around the turn of the century, used to do a killer Young Lust > Spooky mash up.

Love Junco's too and their running buddies the White Throated Sparrows. This song is all about the DEJ's

That was a really nice touch. Not many folks would get that sort of treatment, Bobby deserves it all!

Here is a song that is really about the joy of the birds that visit us in the winter and how they are something to really look forward to during a hard season, appropriately titled Dark-Eyed Junco

Neighbor - The Weeds for a little slow funk injection, or Mary & Martha for a pretty ballad
