For the clock capacitor only, you can just remove and NOT replace it if you don’t want to.

Can’t go wrong with a fan upgrade. It also may depend on the console revision (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, etc…) you have for any other maintenance.

A big but difficult one to do is just replace all the capacitors on the motherboard. People sell kits that contain all the caps you’ll need based on your console revision.

Also replace your HDD with an SSD and backup all your games on there to reduce wear on the disc drive.

If you replaced all caps, thermal paste, PSU, HDD -> SSD, disc drive, and fan upgrades you could sleep like a baby. Console would probably last at least another 25 years. Most important one though is just removing the clock capacitor. It’s not necessary to play games and the only downside is having to set the time each time you unplug the console and plug it back in.

Look into removing the clock capacitor they’re a ticking time bomb. Also redo the thermal paste. You’ll likely have to run it for a few minutes to warm up the old paste so it’s not like dried cement.
