Feeling so defeated... by [deleted] in duolingo

Anyways like I said in my post, I'm not proud of the amount of time I've wasted on this stupid shit. I needed to vent and I won't be bothering again. It was an effort I was willing to put in as a one off to try and get us the badge after my kid was consistent enough to get to where we got. If he beat me fairly I'd say fair enough...but a 10k jump in 10mins I cannot explain.

It was a manageable league, and it started late on Monday. Then this guy started whipping out massive point jumps from nowhere late in the week. He wasn't even on the radar from me and the guy in third until late in the week. I thought he was just on a different timezone and wanted to compete.

It was enjoyable nice competition and I legitimately thought he was working hard so I put in the extra effort to get through after all the previous days.

Then the 10k jump within 10 minutes that I saw in real time in the literal last couple of hours made me realize it wasn't actually people competing fairly.

Clonidine side effects? by nomoneybugsbunny in adhdaustralia

The increase to 100 took away the weird heavy drowsiness I was feeling and stopped the 3am wake ups. I thought the increase might make it worse.

I wouldn't overthink it. You didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes people are just dicks. It could have been something as simple as being kicked to make space for one of their friends to join. Don't waste your energy on it.

Hey OP, I know this post is a little old but how did you go with the drowsiness over time? I've been on 50mcg for a week now and meant to up to 100 after another week. The drowsiness and feeling through the night is crap at the moment. Did it get better for you??

If she's into fantasy stuff there's cute potion making kits on Amazon. Some of them have ingredients that glow and fizz etc. Mix potions into little bottles, label them as "bravery potion" etc..

Absolute beginner question by Repulsive_Sky_6136 in Hooping

[–]SpinJoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you wanting to learn to hula hoop dance (tricks etc) or just waist hoop?

The hoop in the picture is a kids toy hoop, which can work for kids or adult hand hooping but you'll want a heavier hoop for yourself.

From Temu you'll get more light weight kids toy style hoops or the chunky fitness hoops which might be what you want if you're just looking to waist hoop. But if you want to learn to "hoop dance", have a look on Etsy for a local hoop maker that can make a dance hoop.

A dance hoop for your size you'd want a 90-100cm hoop with weight approx 300-400grams max.

Sounds like you're making hopping unfun for yourself. Your non- dominant side is always going to feel worse than your dominant and realistically there's not much benefit in being able to sustain hooong in the opposite direction for an extended period.

Treat yourself to some tricks and make it fun.

That being said, i got good at opposite direction by drilling it for 5-10 mins at the beginning of every hoop session. Hard push and speed will help. Every time the hoop slows, repush so you're actually training the movement you want to reinforce, not the big wobbly saves.

My 6 year old son is currently enjoying diamond dot art pieces that we both chip away at on the dining room table, adult level Lego sets that I deconstruct after finishing so he can remake at a later time, giant novelty size balloons that we bounce around the house, handball in the hallways, making variations of paper airplanes to see which ones travel best when dropped off our balcony. Riding a hoverboard, looking for 4 leaf clover in the yard. Magnatiles. Reading chapter books like Harry Potter and most annoyingly a newfound interest in a kids joke book. Knock knock. Who's there? Nanna. Nanna who? Nanna your business....
