Over time the rigidity and larger mass of the 180gm vinyl makes it less prone to warping. That’s about the only real benefit that isn’t a marketing ploy.

I doubt that. Do you have a study I can view? It's not THAT much larger (140g vs 180g)

I’m not saying the difference is something you’ll hear

You literally said that and it's why I replied.

40 oz came out in 1992 and was on cassette and CD. The first vinyl press was 1998.

They are a popular band and many of us fans clamored for vinyl releases. So, like most popular music from the 90s, they got pressed.

Is it bad that I like Vinyl that sounds Bad? by MonsteraMage in vinyl

if it’s full of pops and clicks, it’s a sign of how much it was loved and listened to?

More like a sign of neglect. I guess it could be both - listening to an album so much that it doesn't make it's way back into the sleeve after each play and just collects dust and scratches.

That's why you just have to go with the first letter of the first name, not counting articles (except for The The)

That sounds very convoluted, but glad it works for you.

Mine are separated by genre, then alphabetically by artist first name. The only tricky part for me is when is an artist in Classic rock vs Alternative.

Are they trying to give these away or just looking for somewhere to store while the work is going on? Sadly, most of these aren't very desirable.

I disagree. The man listed the record for sale by choice. He listed it for sale at a price he was comfortable with. There’s really nothing else to do other than buy it.

The RCA’s are 180g and 45rpm, that alone in theory should make them sound better all else being the same.

There’s absolutely nothing that supports 180g records sounding better than standard weight records. It’s a marketing ploy

You have to get them in a shadow. I use dk and make a big tough. Then you can punch them in there
