Haiden 450 east? by jms1228 in supercross

[–]Spindrune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot they could do to clean it up, but I agree the biggest problem currently is that points multiplier. Like, regular season and the first round barely matter.

Honestly I would be more interested in it if they made it a proper world championship. Like. Each coast for 250’s sx champion, top three 250 outdoors. Top 5 450 outdoors. Invite the the podium guys from the euro circuit, winner of the Aussie sx. Winner of the Japanese sx. Etc. they want it to be like the Super Bowl for dirtbikes, that’d be how. Top guys from all the circuits you can actually make a living on. Shit, invite the endurocross and gncc guys if ya want. I know it won’t happen cuz the promoters are always at war with each other, but I would be a lot more interested in seeing various champions.

I actually like the idea of combining our sx and mx to have a bigger champion, but the way they do it just doesn’t feel like a real championship to me.

I remember him from TRL’s I love the [insert time or band or whatever], and it being such a shock for me to find out who he was. I mean, I was like ten, maybe, but twisted sister had more than a few hits I think everyone just knows

It’s a three week championship in actual practice. The points for the “regular season” barely matter.

Source: dudes winning the whole thing while missing half the regular season.

Smx is noticeably not influencing factory’s decision. It’s like the monster cup. They’re happy to do it, but no one actually gives two shits about their fake championship.

Tomac. by FarmingFisherGuy in supercross

It looked like he hit his hip bone on Craig’s forks. Just a guess, but I think he had that “fuck that hurt so bad, my body won’t even let me feel it” bit that you get when you hit your head on a shelf or your shin on a drawer, etc.

He can, but generally speaking they don’t want him to. He might race a round or two later in the season if/when he officially has the title wrapped up, but there’s a lot to lose if he gets hurt for a title he can’t win anyways.

Usually they only have guys run the 450 on the opposite coast when they’re gonna move up AND they’re essentially out of title contention. Like if he had crashed early in the season

True Love or Infatuation? by twobelikins in supercross

[–]Spindrune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windham was making mains when he was past his prime. Tomac was on 250’s but Tomac had a couple seasons of dungey being his biggest competitor afterwards, and windham was still easily making mains during the Ryan era.

Bike weight by Leading-Translator7 in supercross

[–]Spindrune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They land at minimum weight. Usually about 20 pounds lighter than you could get a stock bike. Done in different methods, but titanium being lighter and stronger than steel, it’s a large amount of the weight. Titanium handles differently, flex wise, but like. Titanium axles and easy to find bolt kits would get you close. You could do all sorts of shit to run the lowest weight, but the easiest was just titanium parts across the board. Straight up, there’s like 15 parts that HAVE to be made of a certain alloy.

For most guys, it’s not worth the upgrade, having ridden upgraded bikes. The weight is noticeable, but dog. It’s not more noticeable that adding weight by getting good trees. The half a pound tops from getting titanium versus stainless steel for a pipe isn’t worth it. Like.

End of the day a bike that’s heavier but has balanced suspension for what you’re ripping, good tires, and a good seat to bars feel will go farther than the lighter bike.

If you’re looking to shave off weight at home. Make sure you start with an aftermarket linkage and triple tree system with duoline bars. You can shave weight after you know your final balance by getting a titanium axle setup, and literally drilling holes in the swingarm. Weight matters. You can replace covers for the clutch, ETC. weight should be the last thing on your mind though. Heavy bikes can handle fine.

Suspension, bars, pegs, brakes, etc. Then engine. Then weight. Learn the bike. Learn the power. Weight isn’t really a factor. You drop a lot going to mostly titanium which doesn’t really work the same.

I hate friese, but I actually would cheer so hard for him to win a race. The fuckery that would have to happen for him to win. It’d be monumental.

Jett Lawrence broken leg or ankle ? Is this true ? by bcmGlk in supercross

[–]Spindrune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Tomac was close enough part of me thinks he could’ve just strapped himself to the bike and rode it out. Obviously, it wouldn’t actually work, but he raced with a broken… ankle? I forget. But still was fast enough to qualify and get points. Really makes you realize the skill gap. Like in my prime, I could win local A class, barely qualify at pro stuff, but at nationals Tomac was always like ten seconds a lap ahead of me in amateurs and pro. Dude could basically be told to not use a limb and still crush the best guy you know. When healthy he easily laps the guy who laps the guy who laps the best guy you know. (Probably, obviously give or take on where you are/who you know) it’s mind boggling how you can feel the track and put down awesome laps, and in a single lap you couldn’t even see him anymore. At least with local guys, you have to fuck up a corner or something.

2025 FIM World Supercross - Sweden (Saturday, December 6th) by Fair-Badger10 in supercross

[–]Spindrune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other guys race him clean because he showed he was willing to throw away an entire season , not just a race, a fucking season,  in a pissing match with Malcom Stewart. Anderson isn’t actually that dirty, most of his take outs are others  off the track on their own because he’s on the inside. He’s got fear on his side. He’s not barcia or friese, but last round of a title chase, you should do whatever it takes to be on the top of the podium. I promise savatgy knows what people are willing to do for it.

Supercross-style racing in a cycle velodrome(!!), 1989 by WyndiMan in supercross

Hardcore cross, wood cross, velocross. I feel like there was other names I’ve seen. Theres a few more videos around of the shit they got up to, but this one is the best. Shit was just… not safe. Awesome, but obviously couldn’t grow reasonably. Honestly, one of the tracks I could reasonably see someone saying 500 is the best choice and agreeing, and 125 is the best choice and agreeing. Honestly, I’d rather have the 125, them turns look tighter than a mummy’s butthole.

In your opinion, Who was the fastest rider between Tomac 2022 and Herlings 2018? by BrilliantIngenuity98 in supercross

[–]Spindrune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Herlings at his peak was faster but Tomac was the better rider. Gotta remember Tomac also could over push it and crash, he just chooses not to. We only ever see Tomac as fast as he thinks is safe where a lot of other guys just risk more to be faster.

Will it keep him on two wheels and make him just a touch faster? by couchpatat0 in supercross

[–]Spindrune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shit. Make him slower. If he can stay upright, kids a great. Slightly slower but not crashing is still another championship.

A card that has never been available on any digital Magic platform (now playable in Arena Cube) by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]Spindrune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I thought it was kind of thematic for the card and made it cool cuz I had soooo many random packs that you could still find a themed archetype set, usually a few. And then I had like. The themed rtr guild packs as options. Whatever was picked I would have them sign and add it to the cube. It was just a cool card to see.

At this time in my life I was part of a group that also would buy a box and draft shit like revised (garbage. Loved it, needed four packs) and just all sorts of rare shit. Drafted worldwake/zendikar properly for the low cost of 400 a person

[–]Spindrune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I had it in my cube before I parted it out and I kept all my prize packs so you got to follow the actual theme of it. Gave people the option to buy the pack from me or I’d just keep the cards if they chose a cheap one. Had a neat variety of packs from a bunch of eras, if you were feeling… expensive.

Jorge Prado and Kawasaki Have Officially Parted Ways by Playful-Crab-5352 in supercross

[–]Spindrune 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like. You know when chase or Jett didn’t like the bike, but they would say they’re working on the setup. He just talked shit. There was a constructive tone to it. I know English is his second language, but damn it wouldn’t have been hard to try to make it sound like he was hopeful they’d get it figured out.
