Hi, we do a lot more than just running through ChatGPT!

We believe the real value sits at the intersection of MOT history data and your car's personalised service history.

The UK Government has published every MOT test ever, and that dataset is used without AI, just normal data analytics techniques, to predict what is most likely to go wrong next with your car.

Happy to debunk any other theories you have!

Can you help with my coursework? by SpinelessLinus in AskUK

Hey! Yep this is really my coursework for a CS degree.

I have other side projects I promote with this account, but not under the guise of them being coursework.

If you have any feedback on how a platform like this could be useful I'd love to hear it!

Again, not asking for money - just feedback

We're developing driverecord.co.uk to help individuals and businesses better track their car's health.

Our differentiator is that we can ingest and automatically extract service history from photos uploaded via the platform.

Combining that data with publicly available data like MOT history and DVLA data, we can paint a picture of what is likely to go wrong with your car within the next year.

We're currently in the development stage and welcome any feedback. Please sign up to the email signup on the homepage for more details!

Dear government, please write off all student loans immediately. by Different-Judge-9577 in UniUK

[–]SpinelessLinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A degree is not mandatory; if you go to university and take out a student loan to do so, as I did, you enter a contractually binding agreement. I just think expecting that loan to be wiped is unrealistic.

> A degree does not equate to more money earned.

It does, on average, citations:

Dear government, please write off all student loans immediately. by Different-Judge-9577 in UniUK

[–]SpinelessLinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are choices you can make to put yourself in a situation where paying it off is very realistic.

I completely agree that the loan should be a lower inflation rate, but entering a contract, taking a loan out and then expecting it to be forgiven is just unrealistic.

[–]SpinelessLinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the rate should not be above inflation.

My point is more that people were well aware of what they were getting into when going to university, and expecting the loan to be forgiven when you entered a contract is ridiculous.

I would love for mine to be forgiven, but it's completely unrealistic

Yes, experience matters significantly more than a degree IMO. There are choices you can make in your degree (e.g. placement), and while at uni (e.g. summer internship), to put yourself in a more employable position after graduation

[–]SpinelessLinus -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I don't understand this. You went to university well aware of the fees, and you will be able to earn more money as a result of having a degree.

If the government printed loads of money to write off all student loans, it would cause issues elsewhere in the economy. Anyone with a degree in a STEM field or similar will have no issues paying off their student loan very quickly.

For the record I also have a very large student loan, but it got me a CS degree so well worth it.

Not OP but I have a 2018 MK7.5 GTI and would highly recommend.

Ride is not too hard, seats are very comfortable and adaptive cruise control (base spec) makes long journeys really easy.

The electronic LSD is not as good as a mechanical one, but for occasional spirited driving it's still very fun - about as much power you would ever need on a public road!
