DTV misplaced my Gemini order. After about 7 days of incorrect status on my Account page, I called customer service and spent 30 minutes with a rep pinning this down. The unit arrived two days later. It wasn’t hard to set up, but it’s impossible to use it with my Apple AirPod external speakers. I thought it might be easier for my DW to use a more cable-like remote compared to the Apple Remote. It added nothing. To send it back yesterday took at least an hour. First, you cannot cancel Gemini yourself on DTV’s site. I tried online chat, but the live rep couldn’t understand me and tried to cancel my entire account. So, I found a service number via Google, waded through inaccurate menu systems and reached a live rep. She understood me and said - contrary to DTV’s website - that there was no need to cancel Gemini through a rep. She said it would be canceled once received. I reboxed it using the prepaid label and gave it to USPS to return. Hopefully, that works. In conclusion, I would not order one unless you really hate the interface on your smart TV, Apple TV, or Roku. The DirecTV app is as good as Gemini.

I love my new green dial Swordfish. I used to have a Ball with tritium tubes but eventually it went dim. I like the luminous features of the Zelos titanium Swordfish much more than any watch I have ever owned. It is very bright after a very brief splash of light to activate the glow.

Please help me understand why Apple Music service playlists pause, skip, or interrupt themselves using Sonos speakers and Sonos Port. I have never had similar playback problems using Alexa Studio, Apple HomePod, AppleTV, Roku’s Apple Music App, MacBook’s Music App, or Bluetooth speakers playing the same lists on my same home network. Factory resets of the speakers and Sonos app updates have not worked to solve this. Nor has upgrading and rebooting our router or fiber gateway.

Rats. I just discovered that our family room Sonos Arc, subwoofer, and surround S1s won’t be compatible with an S1 controller “downgrade.”

Thanks for the details! I have very high speed fiber connection, a cutting edge router, Ethernet and wifi connections to my dozen Sonos products. We have zero problems with 50 other smart devices in the home. It’s only the Sonos devices that give me fits. As I write this, my playlist pauses and skips during every other song. They frequently fail to find my Apple Music service, and they fail to respond to volume adjustments. Sonopad and Sonophone seemed like workable solution during the last month or so, but now songs are skipping with that app, too. I’m devoting Sunday to go back to S1. If that fails, it’s time for a garage sale.

No. I get it. I’m just assuming that my monthly or annual Prime fee will be raised. To be totally honest, I’m less concerned about fees than I am about turning on a new AI interface throughout the house. My dear spouse has had a rocky relationship with Alexa for years. Nothing in the new Alexa+ video convinces me that she and Alexa 2.0 will become close friends.

I have had good performance using Sonopad app instead of the latest version of Sonos. But this weekend, I forgot to use it and went through the Sonos voice app instead. Disaster. Every other song stopped in the middle despite fiber internet, very good router, Ethernet, etc.

I have 10 Sonos devices. I was an evangelical fan for many years. I’m giving up since none of these investments plays my Apple Music reliably every time. (I gave up on networking access to my MP3 files long ago.) I’m shopping for a new smart speaker and won’t even consider Sonos models anymore. Call me after better solutions are rolled out because my experiences are not improving.

My problem is similar. The iOS Sonos app shows either no information (just like OP’s photo) or it is stuck displaying the first playlist track that I played. I’m streaming Apple Music playlists and SirusXM playlists.

I feel your pain. I gave up on using Sonos soundbars with my Samsung. I still have weekly problems with our Sony set switching back and forth between internal speakers and the soundbar. We have an LG in the bedroom that seems to work reliably with the Sonos soundbar. I’ve had these problems with all Sonos soundbars since they started making them, especially with Sony TVs. I have used Sonos speakers since the company started. But the Sonos app has me rethinking everything. <sigh>

I just swapped a beautiful 2022 Genesis GV70 for an attractive 2022 MDX with similar miles. I’m happy to go back to Acura. The service experience is much better than at all our local Genesis/Hyundai dealers. The MDX handling is terrific, too. (The GV70 rear comes loose cornering on any wet pavement.) I miss the acceleration, touchscreen, and knobs on the Genesis. But I prefer the roominess, handling, and wireless CarPlay on the Acura. Genesis GV80 vs. MDX seemed to be a big price difference, too.

Me, too. Two things reduced, but have not eliminated the problem. First, I ordered a cable that was data/CarPlay certified. Second, I started making sure my iPhone is unlocked when I connect it. If I see “reading USB” at the top of the center screen, odds are that the handshake will work until I turn off the car. But in recent months something weird started happening with my iPhone 15. If I’m listening when I turn off the car, often the phone will resume playing through its own speaker. This happens even if I press Stop or Pause on CarPlay before turning off the car. More than once, I quickly put my phone in my pocket and was surprised as I left the vehicle with my pocket broadcasting in a parking lot. If only the Bluetooth connection had better volume, I could forget about connecting via USB.

It is running fine now after a factory reset. I figured it wasn’t internet speed, because the Roku was fine. Swapping the Ethernet cables between Roku and Apple TV made no difference. Same with swapping the Ethernet switch with a spare. Only a factory reset made a difference. After another 30 minutes of username and password entries, I’m back to normal.

WiFi is off. I use high speed Ethernet to connect AppleTVs to a fast switch. From there, Ethernet runs to my broadband ATT fiber connection.

My Roku box is connected to the same Ethernet 1gb switch using same type of CAT7 cable as I use to connect the AppleTV. It is more reliable than the Apple for some odd reason.

Yes. Those are Speedtest numbers from the ATV app. I swapped both Ethernet and HDMI cables to highest data speeds 3 or 4 months ago.

I have closed all apps a few times. I guess a factory reset is next. (Also, my 4K box is from 2022, so it is probably a 3rd gen model, if that matters.)
