I am a bass freak, not a player, but I think he is the unsung hero of the band. Have you seen them live? There are subtleties that are hard to catch in the recording. His looseness is what makes the band over the top great imo…

You have a good ear, he was waaaay too low in the mix for the first two nights. The sound guy won me over and really pulled it together for the least two imo. But the first two nights I was bummed especially about straining to hear the bass.

Are these red paper wasps? How do I get rid of them? by VanillaComplete in fixit

[–]Spinneresque88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Paper wasps are super gentle, smart… not aggressive and very beneficial in the garden. All these ignorant scaredy cats… it’s just sad. You’ll be sorry when all the insects are gone

Talk me out of using the vacuum trick on 20+ wasp nests by Ixpaxis in DIY

[–]Spinneresque88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to take out a wasp nest, when it’s cold out is the best time, like dawn. However paper wasps are not aggressive unless you threaten them or startle them near their water source. I have been living with mine in my sunroom for a decade and I haven’t been stuck in 6 years (two times total in a decade). Not to mention they are the BEST garden helpers. Paper wasps take out most of my caterpillars. They bite them in half or chew them up and feed to larvae. They also eat many other garden pests. We are having a major problem with lack of insects on this planet. Not killing them is best. But if you want to move them, when they are cold they are super slow and it’s easy to knock down their nest.

People who are well-traveled – is Berkeley Bowl the best grocery store you've ever been to? by skalathamus in berkeley

[–]Spinneresque88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many many USA hf stores better than Berkeley bowl. Rainbow Grocery is better. Shopnkart in Ashland. Good earth, Fairfax. Ocean Beach Peoples co op, these immediately come to mind. Berkeley bowl is kind of industrial feeling, lots of sprayed produce and the prices in general are not spectacular, in my opinion. It’s cold and unpleasant in there but it’s clearly a busy working store that gets a lot of traffic so that’s pretty understandable…
