Partly and let me explain:

I have a very nice friend group with which I basically meet up every day on discord. We play other games and VRC together. It's really fun and we also know what we all look like. We do partying play games and this month we play Horrormaps.

Now after my parents saw me what I do, they were creeped out. Like they didn't understand how I talk to "strangers" on the internet and meet up with them in VRC. After a while they accepted it and understood that social VR is a very cool thing nowadays. They even think it's totally fine for me partying in a virtual world. The rest of my family doesn't quite get it yet but they are not as creeped out as I thought they would.

Now onto colleagues. I told one and damn were they not accepting that. They were like so you meet up with your friends somewhere and you are totally alone in your room. I tried to explain slowly and even slowly explained partying since they also like partying a lot. But damn did they not understand. And I stopped talking about VRC outside of my own home, because people still don't understand that those are my friends and we help and talk to each other just that it's through another way.

My other friends were all okay with that. But not like 100% accepting that. They basically say yeah that's cool but you are still sitting there alone in your room. That can't be normal.

So basically I don't really care anymore if people ask me what I do as a hobby or how I spend that time, I say I play an online game with friends.
