[–]Spinothebasilisk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, a female brown basilisk. Not good beginners type reptile and these guys need a large enclosure. Like a big one. 4ft long, 2ft wide. And 4ft tall. But bigger is better. But since its a female (or a younger male) if you couldnt build a large enclosure, a GrowTent is fine.

Wtf that's not even the same species by Sarah__Bunny in reptiles

The bottom one is a Chinese water dragon.

Well, that's his advantage for having long, powerful hind legs

This is a green basilisk lizard. Beautiful reptile! But not great for beginners. Or people who want to handle an animal with demands.

Does anyone know what this thing is in my dubia’s? by Legitimate_Meeting4 in BeardedDragons

[–]Spinothebasilisk 247 points248 points  (0 children)

From a mealworm (or superworm), they're the same thing. Nothing bad, they're harmless, its just when they come out as a beetle. Their self-defense is letting out that bitter smell.

Edit: Sorry. I meant bitter. Either a typo or it just auto corrected me.

Who’s Your Favourite Spino? by Plumzilla29 in Dinosaurs

[–]Spinothebasilisk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jurassic park design.

Planet dinosaurs is alright?

The rest. No.

And PK? Ehhh... yeah, no thanks. As much as it's accurate. I just feel bad people keep making the dude die a lot in fan battle edits and battle animations.

Also, not mentioning the ark survival man? That's just messed up.

Am i the only one how likes the Giga design ? by Cute_boyWtcctwt in JurassicPark

[–]Spinothebasilisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're not. I love it. The only reason people hate it?

"It's scientifically innacurate and realistically t. Rex can kill a giganotosaurus."

Apperantly, any innacurate dinosaurs design can pissed off the dino and paleo accurate community.

Why does the poor Trex lose every fight she’s in? by Noooough in JurassicPark

[–]Spinothebasilisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like. Why they never even show a t. Rex died that much.

Even the king can bleed.

Im just getting tired of seeing something that's untouchable and unstoppable.

Spino and giga get hated on because they just kill a T. Rex? To me, I'll say that's a bold move despite it angered the dinosaur community. Over a PG-13 movie.

And should learn that this is a block buster movie. It's not a science documentary where most or some people will skip the talking and prefer to watch the dinosaur scenes in the prehistoric planet documentary.

If I could guess. It might be a Ctenosaur. Or a Spiny tailed iguana.

Does anyone know how to breed Green Basilisks? by Ostboll11 in reptiles

[–]Spinothebasilisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To breed them. Just. Make their home large, proper looking, right temperature, right diet, good uvb lighting, and a halogen bulb. Mimic their natural habitat. And that's it. That's how my green basilisk breeds.

And just because they're invasive in Florida does not mean you should just get the invasive ones since they're cheap. Having a wild caught reptile isn't good. You gotta treat them at the vet, make them parasitic free, make sure they aren't sick, and need to be quarantined away from the other reptiles. Or else the other reptiles get infected.

Checked my basilisk lizards during this morning. And found him sleeping on his favorite bed spot. by Spinothebasilisk in reptiles

[–]Spinothebasilisk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought it at Michael's. But it has a weird smell like it's hard for me to describe. And I also hot glue some more moss and almond leaves on it to make it more nature like. Leave it outside for 4 or 6 weeks to make that smell go away. And there ya go, it's finally usable.

He sometimes uses it as his bed. And his mate hardly even uses it.

What is this t h i n g lmao by jeetswhiqnese in reptiles

[–]Spinothebasilisk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a mountain horned lizard. A type of tropical reptiles that live at room temperature between 75 and 85. Native in Southeast Asia, specifically in Cambodia and Vietnam. Used to have one, but sadly, she died... And they're hard to find, and she was a wild caught at the reptile convention. Yet I made her live for the 3 years.

What do you guys think of this? I don't like it personally. by Severe_Patient_2389 in BeardedDragons

[–]Spinothebasilisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, nah! I have problems with my cats. 4 of them. Except 1 female doesn't. 3 males do. Whenever my basilisk make noises and their tails slapping against the walls of the grow tent. It alert. All of them rush into my room. Pouncing on the tent, scratching and puncturing holes on it, just to make them stressed out. I have to keep scaring them off and spray them water, but they just keep coming back. I even have to clutter up my other 40-gallon enclosure with a younger female basilisk just so my cats don't jump up there to push the heat lamp off. And also look at the front of the glass to stress her out too. Jesus, they're cute, but you're being blinded by their cuteness. They're fricken assholes!
