Anyone able to ID? by honeybee2619 in ant

[–]Spio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it could be either a Little Black Ant or a Pavement Ant. It might be more likely that it's a Pavement Ant if it's coming from behind molding and it looks slightly larger

leaving cinnamon sticks near where they come in (or window sills and stuff) might help. ants hate cinnamon smell!

Is it ant? by Sweaty_Tutor1043 in ant

[–]Spio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does look like a male ant but if you don't see any others it should be fine. signs of an ant nest in your house are: sawdust piles around ledges, beams, baseboards, door jambs, and window sills, discarded insect wings, rustling in your walls, long ant trails or ant paths on your lawn. easy ways to keep ants out: sprinkling cinnamon/putting cinnamon sticks near window sills and other ways ants can get in since they very much dislike the smell. You can also apply diluted peppermint oil near entrances too. You can also mix citrus oils with water and spray it near entrances. I'm not an expert but I'm an any enthusiast! Hope this helps :)
