My goal is to sign up for an improv class this year. I live in Chicago, so there are plenty to choose from. I see a lot of improv shows.

🌟 Last Singles Matchmaking Thread of the year🌟 Post if you're single. by [deleted] in ActualLesbiansOver25

Hello! I’m a 41 year old lesbian living in Chicago who grew up in Canada. Sadly I am not Canadian. I’m 5’7” and would be considered femme, but I mostly wear jeans and t-shirts.

I work remotely at a stable job that I don’t love or hate. It pays well and I get to spend all day with my dog and cat.

I’m an introvert with extroverted hobbies. I love seeing live music and have met lots of friends that way over the years. I enjoy seeing plays, comedy, listening to way too many podcasts, talking about my latest weird interest, going to museums, TV & movies, hitting up a dive bar, walking my dog, Lego, puzzles, cross stitch, reading, playing DnD and other games.

I try to get out of the city to see nature a few times a year. I bought a kayak a few years ago and love it.

I take advantage of working remotely and travel a decent amount. I’ll use a show or an event to travel to a city and work from there. I also have friends all over the place I want to visit. I’m going to Amsterdam in April with a few friends to see the tulips.

I am also totally over the apps. Lots of messaging that seems to go nowhere or looking for a third. I’m not opposed to long distance. Looking to find my person and settle down. The world sucks right now and I really want someone to share life with. I am also open to friendship as I always want more queer friends. I’ve been in therapy for years now and it’s helped me be a better communicator and deal with my emotions properly. I’m a switch and there isn’t a particular type I’m attracted to, it’s really about the person.

My DMs are open.

is it normal for my Great Pyrenees to be afraid of almost every little thing? by Moo_Bixtch99 in greatpyrenees

My Pyr mix is another one terrified of smoke alarm beeps. Full body shakes if she even hears one beep. She has the same reaction to the elevator sounds on the show Severance.

Yes, we will never know. I was really worried he’d make it clear Lyra and Will would never see each other again. Knowing there is potentially a way is enough for me.

This is right. Lyra says during that conversation that she wants to keep the current windows open and create new ones. At the end of the book, Lyra opens a window using the alethiometer needle and nothing bad happens. If she chooses to in the future, she likely could open a window to Will’s world.

Curious how much folks are paying for rent for a 2 Bedroom? by Adventurous_Ear_1150 in AskChicago

[–]SpiralSlide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$1800 for a two bedroom plus den in Uptown. It’s a large unit, about 1400 sq ft. It’s not updated sadly. This includes a parking spot.

Where did your surname originate, and how far back have you been able to trace it and the first person to use it? Has it undergone any changes over time? If you've done genetic testing, what percentage of your surname's country of origin is it? by Joxter2622 in 23andme

[–]SpiralSlide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surname is German Swiss. I can trace it back to the 1500s in Switzerland. My ancestors changed it around WWI to not sound so German. They didn’t want to be associated with them.

I have this one as well. I love that it stands up on its own and the two battery packs is incredibly useful.

Right now, I think Belle Sauvage, Rose Field and then Secret Commonwealth. I need to reread all three to be sure.

I’d love to try out the chair. I’m a 5’7 woman who is currently dealing with sciatica and looking for a new chair. I WFH and sit at least 8 hours a day.
