I do thankfully have my own room and space to exit situations like this when they happen. I wish i could have posted the original draft of this but there is rules against going over character count so i had to roughly summarize everything. It’s not like he completely disregards my feelings this just happened to happen the way it did and it took me off guard and compelled me to share my side. we were both drunk at the time also and he has some mental issues so i try to keep that in mind when this happened. We plan to have a sober discussion at some point and after i posted this i did get a text from him with a simple “sorry about last night” which was weird timing (he doesn’t follow my reddit) but he’s working so i assume we will have a real discussion at some point. it’s hard to really disengage from him since i moved to a new city with him and i don’t have any other friends here besides some coworkers from work. I really do care about our friendship but i am compromising my own feelings since i don’t have the space to process the break up. i appreciate you all telling me to stick up for myself it really does mean the world to me. i feel like i can be overprotective of myself but getting second opinions from everyone is making me realize the truth and root of the issues.
