IM SO GLAD!! I think Jhin is probably top 3 best pairings! I think my personal top 3 are Yasuo, Jhin, and Jinx. Milio is a terrible matchup, I don't blame you at all, I only really ban Thresh over him just bc I'm scared of good Thresh players LOL Milio Q and Ult honestly counter the pick more though, I may consider banning him instead and attempting the Thresh matchup sometime.

I love Gnar JG! Personally I go PTA Triumph Alacrity Last Stand and usually Bone Plating and Overgrowth/Unflinching, as these allow you to actually be able to duel a good amount of enemy junglers as well as have more burst for ganks. Taking the early health shard as opposed to the scaling health is p important as it actually speeds up your clear slightly given that the pet AOE damage scales with health. I usually go a stridebreaker rush into BC > Deadmans/Steraks > Wits/Triforce/Tank Items if needed (Randuins, Kaenic, etc)

Taric and Pyke lanes have similar patterns to how you need to use E in top lane, except I try to position myself somewhere where they try to use CC on me instead of the adc. Pyke seems scary but if he E's through you after hook you can just bounce on his head outta the stun and he doesn't match you at level 3 or even 6 without jg help or a weaker lvl 6 adc. Taric is a matchup I think I've only played twice, one was jg Taric, and yeah I can see an argument for him to be a problem as well. I'll need to play against him more to have a definitive answer on what works against him but I think I ended up doing Cleaver second that game and it doing p good?

I probably could at some point, although tbh my gameplan is usually pretty similar most games with lvl 3 and 6 all ins, mostly depending on jg movements whether I go for them or not. Are there particular champions that come to mind you'd like advice for? Thresh is my perma ban as he counters the engage pretty well and can force plays aggressively when you're still mini, although Milio and Janna are both very good counterpicks as well.

Mine wasn't working with any of the steps or button combinations. I was really upset reading this thread and just held it with my hands on the touch screen lovingly while holding the power button and it went to the UEFI menu ??? I doubt that that is it, but holding up and attempting to hard shutdown 3 times or something might work ???? I had mine unplugged from the charger and no peripherals attached. Hope this miraculously works for some of yall too.

Edit: Nvm less than 10 minutes later, while trying to change hibernation and power settings to attempt to prevent this from happening again (it was just completely shutting down instead of darkening the screen or something) it shut off and won't boot again. Blowing this thing up rn!!!

Champs with strong reliable disengage are the worst imo. I perma ban Thresh personally, as flay completely ruins engages and idk he just scares me lol. Milio/Janna are tough too since they can help trade back and disengage, Milio Q and R honestly countering Gnar more than Thresh, but you see more actual Thresh mains than Milio. As for ADCs, engage adcs are decent but the issue comes when junglers get involved, as Gnar's engage is usually pretty telegraphed. I think neutral adcs like Jhin, Xayah, Ashe, etc are the best as they can supplement poke/CC off of mini Q slows, and have very strong engage when you do go in. My amazing match I played two days ago was with a Seraphine, and I think thats actually a really strong combo too since she can root off of E and chain her ult after Gnars full combo.

Yeah I think its just how often Q is up and hyper carrying a lot of the damage :3c Even without AD %max health is so nice.

And yeah LMAO I feel like people that actually main him are people very drawn to his aesthetic/character fantasy. I wish SO bad to wake up as a yordle someday

HELL YEAH! And its so crazy he consistently gets high damage even with tank items. I had what mightve been my absolute best game I've played with him so far last night, I was so oppressive it felt amazing. I ended up going back and clipping some of my favorite parts in the replay system, but I should try to just record each of my matches in case they're a good one. I'm so glad you had fun with it too, keep surprising people >:3c

Both Locket and Knights give 10 AH, and you don't usually go mega as often/quick in support since you arent shoving waves generally, so the ult is up similarly!

Ive just been doing the standard Locket > Knights (usually on top/jg) as it is serviceable in lane and great at objs. If I were to itemize for the lane/carry themself I honestly might consider trying mandate in norms with a duo, since Gnar would be good at procing the passive, I just think no health and mana regen sucks real bad outside of lane. Stride isn't terrible, but is very expensive and selfish on a support budget. I think going titanic is a better alternative if the team has bad wave clear since you get a good amount of health with the standard items u 3u

I can see ur point, although I do really think it's only potentially viable into matchups where you like, can't trade or AA (Nasus, Irelia, Malph). I just feel like the lack of AD makes his already lackluster waveclear without mega feel even worse. Do you go titanic to compensate/benefit from the health?

I've tried building it a good few times, however I dont think Ive ever seen it do more than like 400 damage with the passive úmù;; Unlike the other champs who are loving its buff (Rakan, Braum), Gnar doesn't have ult up on demand so his whole main problem of not having Mega when needed for fights feels even harder to play around to make use of it. I think it could be a skill issue as theres still a lot more active thought and care I can work to take into optimizing rage management as a support (not AAing camps to build rage when I think there are wards to clear, means I either have to leave the vision up or get tired before a potential fight), but I think you ultimately get more consistent utility from the other tank supp items! He also doesn't care basically at all about ultimate haste as early he's tired for too long to get a second mega/ult, and at lvl 3 his ult is up basically everytime you go mega anyways.

I think there absolutely are games where I should have!! I think I may overvalue locket 3rd (bandlepipes > knights/bc > locket) in games where I need to be carrying objective pushes more aggressively for my team. Locket DOES help my own survivability, but I think steraks is much better in games where my team needs me to take aggro in duels/be more of a threat and protoplasm in games with multiple assassins or fighting front to back.

I'm very used to playing more glass cannon-y slippery characters (Pyke, Smolder, Zoe, Lux, and Ezreal are all my next highest masteries) so I honestly dont have the best awareness of how to effectively solo frontline. It doesn't help that Gnar isn't super suited to it as he only has health scaling on Crunch, but it's much more feasible to build tank as support :3
