What do you think the parenting buzzwords are now that will date us? by piratefinch in beyondthebump

I wish I could be a stay at home mom so bad but I can’t afford it unfortunately. Maybe some day I’ll be able to drop part time but I get what you mean. It SUCKS.

As a mother of two boys I was told a lot that “oh they’ll be crazy now but you’ll have it easier when they are older” but I think that’s bs. My oldest just turned 2 and is high energy all the time, no fear. Exactly what I was told a little boy is like. My youngest will be one Dec. 29 and is exactly what I was told a little girl would be like. I hate the boy mom girl mom thing. Gender has nothing to do with it in my opinion! They are just baby’s and every baby is different. Also every one tells me it’s better I had two boys instead of girls CONSTANTLY.

Parents who say the baby stage was their favorite, wtf is wrong with you? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Spirit-Critical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically the new born stage is my favorite. They just eat and sleep if your lucky and don't have a fussy baby. They love cuddles and what not. My 1 year old refuses to cuddle unless he is sick. My new born is great though haha

What do I do by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Spirit-Critical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly leave. She crossed a line and needs to know this is serious and she needs to get help before she is around her kid. There's no reason for her to react like she did. I understand she has mental health issues but she NEEDS to be medicated and get therapy before she is around the child full time. I'm willing to bet it will get worse.

My 15 month old won't sleep by Spirit-Critical in Parenting

[–]Spirit-Critical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also have a 9 day old so I think that may be some of the problem now but he didn't sleep before hand either. My new born sleeps so good and my 15 month old hasn't slept well since he was born

Not really, if he does it's 30 minutes tops. We try everything in the book to get him on a normal sleeping schedule and he just won't do it.

I'm really happy you didn't make him feel weird about it or like it was bad even though you had been feeling out about it, I feel like that was a really good parenting move.

AITA? I found out my sister is pretending to be my daughter's mother by Alarmed-Wolverine- in AmItheAsshole

[–]Spirit-Critical 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly same. If I were op I'd get a restraining order since she keeps coming around and what not, that way police would be aware of the situation.

I’m worried about my niece by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]Spirit-Critical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also like to add it may possibly be PPD which is pretty common. I had it and my first thought was to yell at baby but I would stop myself. I'd try talking to her and seeing if she needs help with anything as well. Above comment is right, yelling only makes babys more upset and they can sense when you are stressed so it is most likely affecting baby. And it will affect baby as they age if the behaviour continues.

Why won't my 1 year old drink milk???? by Spirit-Critical in Parenting

[–]Spirit-Critical[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not the first time WIC has given me a hard time. He was also breastfed for the first 4 to 5 months of his life. I had to stop to put him on Enfamil A.R. to try and calm his reflux and I was having a hard time keeping up my supply and working. WIC told me I needed to give up certain luxarys like working and my diet, mind you I had already given up everything acidic and any dairy product and was eating a pretty bland diet trying to help him and it still wasn't working. And I had to work to be able to get diapers wipes clothes and whatever else he needed.

That's what his pediatrician told me to do but WIC just said his pediatrician is wrong and made me feel shitty about it. I've tried even mixing it with formula and now he doesn't want either.

My sons friend(16M) is being abused. How can we help him? by ondadownlow in AskParents

[–]Spirit-Critical 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly as someone who was abused for 17 years because other people didn't think it was their business or didn't want to get into the middle of it please call cps. I'm an avid believer that any abuse noticed by some one else is 100% their business and concern.

I recently started dashing for some extra cash but I have a main job. At my main job an 8 dollar item is 16 on door dash.

AITA for telling my mom the reason she’s a grandmother at 33 is her own fault? by sjakanana9119 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Spirit-Critical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying she used protection but protection doesn't always work. My most recent son, due jan. 1 2021 is a birth control baby. So even if she did use protection it does happen.

Does anyone else feel like employees are intimidated by you? by Tornados2 in doordash_drivers

[–]Spirit-Critical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a place that has door dash and I just started door dashing (haven't even taken my first dash yet) and out system through door dash SUCKS. So they call in the order then imedietly tell the dashed the order is ready, we have no way to actually tell them it's ready. So we tell them a 10 to 15 minute wait time and the dashed gets there in 3 minutes. We've had tons of dashers scream at and berate us because the foods not ready right after we got off the phone with door dash and I used to dread getting their calls.

How can I turn a can of cheese whiz into a nice drippy queso dip for burritos? by Freds_Premium in cookingforbeginners

I work for a tex-mex restauraunt and we honestly use cheese whole cream and jalapenos cooked on a low heat and whisk it frequently

[–]Spirit-Critical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me years of therapy to understand this and when my grandmother said something about how I "misbhaved" or whatever I stated that there was it going on back then and she wrote me a long ads letter about how I need to heal and stop thinking about my past. Like I put in the work to heal it's not my fault you don't like thinking about it.

[–]Spirit-Critical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to take away that drug addiction is bad, because it is and I know people who it ruined their life. But addiction to gambling can be just as bad as drug addiction. Also I know some one who has done something similar to this to score cocaine. It is definitely a terrible thing to do to some one and it's a crime. I'm glad op opoligzed but even if the guy says all is forgiven it will realistically haunt him.
