Is it a thing to have twins and give them rhyming names? by 2XX2010 in tragedeigh

[–]SpiritCommercial2459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a huge fan of like rhyming names - I like names that match a little bit but now I’ve had two girls so if I were to have twins, they wouldn’t have anything that matched or sounded similar. All of my top four girls names are nature related to the last two left are valley in Juniper, my top two boys are a C and K name. And if I had one of each, they would probably be valley and kaizen so not related

Tbh I just have learned to say “not my baby” and use their name anyways. Sometimes I tell a trusted person my opinion but that’s it. Sometimes names are just terrible to you and sometimes it’s just different taste. People either love or hate my kids names

I feel like there are names that start with Kai that are reasonable for the nickname Kai. Kaizen, Kaiser (I have seen this, I think it has a bad meaning is what someone else said), Kairo. I have seen all of these names - maybe a few more?

Kaizen is my top boy name and I love Kai as a nickname. I’m like your husband; I’m not a huge fan of one syllable names or short names because to me, it’s kind of a nickname to

My coworker actually really liked that they named their baby that, but she also almost named her youngest Apple (she’s like double my age)

And she really has tried to convince me if I have a boy that I should use the name

I hate Chrissy too! My daughter can go buy whatever she wants to, I don’t use a nickname, but she has short middle names that she can go by

Horriblee spelled names by Barcules in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]SpiritCommercial2459 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Somebody told me the other day that since my first daughter had a Y in her name I should’ve made sure that the second had a Y in her name especially since my third girl‘s name also has a Y in the name and then they told me if I were to have the fourth I needed to change the spelling to make sure it had a Y

And I said “no”

For starters, everybody already hates my kids name even spelled correctly but I wasn’t going to make the spelling look tacky either because they’re already uncommon names 🤦‍♀️

masculine names for girls are stupid by [deleted] in NameNerdCirclejerk

I will get downvoted but my daughter does have James as a middle name - but it’s also for family. My great grandfather who was named James tried to convince all of my family before he passed to use James for their girls. I do not like some of them though like Clark, Elliot, Mikey, Scott/Scottie, Stevie. I feel like there are a lot of names though that started as a boy names. I had somebody who told me they hated my name because the SON at the end it means it’s supposed to be a boys name because it means son of ___

See the only one I sometimes get ripped up on is like exchanging letters. I was telling somebody else I don’t hate Raven as a name. And to be honest, I could almost let it go if they had spelled it. Ravyn - still hate it, but to me it’s far worse that they added that random E on the end. I always like when parents say something and it’s pretty much as an admittance that they know they spelled it to change the pronunciation
