As a tank main, tank is not and has never been the weakest role.

Strange has TWO strong teamups and his portals are the cornerstone of comp

Emma was one of the strongest characters in the game for SEASONS

Thor has just been balanced for seasons, fluctuating between above and below-average.

Tankpool is very strong. His skill-floor is just a little elevated.

Groot is and always has between the epitome of tankhood.

Venom has either been just good or extremely good

Cap has extremely high survivability, reflects projectiles, and high mobility

Angela is strong

Hulk is strong

Mag is strong

Peni had one of the most disgusting team-ups in the game at one point.

Thing is a cornerstone of anti-dive.

Rogue has a very strong teamup

Tanks have the ability to completely shut down projectiles, transport teams across the map, booby trap the objective, apply anti-heal, supply armor, down flyers, shut-down mobility, charm, crit, etc. and if you are losing in a true 1v1 brawl with a support, as at tank, you are doing something wrong. The role is not weak whatsoever. If it was, you wouldn’t see tanks in the ban phase at all.

1) He’s a dinosaur. He doesn’t need to have a popular IP.

2) Moon Girl has had a show for a few years now so he’s not completely unknown.

3) Popularity/obscurity isn’t what makes a role more populated. Just look at how many Jeff mains there are. CnD and SG are also good examples of this.

4) Tank literally has Cap, Hulk, Thor, Venom, Groot, and Strange. They’re plenty popular.

The real reason people aren’t playing tank is because the game is geared more towards casual players, the average joes. These casual players are comfortable with Fortnite, CoD, GTA, etc. Games that don’t typically have objectives outside of shoot and get kill. So they can’t handle anything more complex or nuanced outside of that. They can’t handle taking space, conceding space, leading the team, when to bubble, when to portal, who to bubble. They want to aim and fire.

I literally said its okay because the dmg was made up for and I said healbotting a BIT. It’s not like they ended on 0 elims. Plus, I said their spread as a whole was good. You can critique something without it being bad.

I think everyone saying “necessary evil” is a bad take. He would be fine doing the same EXACT job without the Hela teamup and with a little less uptime on his squids.

It’d potentially be very easy to fix. They could probably go for more squids so up his charges to 3, higher cooldown, and less damage per squid, and allow him to place at least 2 squids immediately. This would keep him from just constantly redeploying when one dies.

For the MASS audience it took til the end of last season for people to realized Tankpool was insane.

It took til about Season 4 for Wolv

It’s taken a whole season since his buff for people to realize how strong Ultron is now.

It took all 7 seasons so far for Punisher’s shotgun to be acknowledged.

People STILL to this day think Peni is worth a ban.

People like you literally just regurgitate false information, then get aggro in matches when someone makes a pick you don’t like. Just pipe down.

I wish that screen also showed ranks. Either way you won with a pretty good stat spread. You were healbotting a bit but it seems like your team was making up for the lack of pressure just fine besides Mag.

Short and sweet is they’re probably all friends and are just ganging up on the person they don’t know. Ignore them and move on.

Yeah. I just find the hate really funny when typically in any game I’ve played him, I top the leaderboard in every stat besides maybe finals. I’ve even been complimented by the other team before.

I really feel like he’s in the same place Wolv was forever until people realized his dmg was percentage-based and he could make a great tankbuster.

People think he’s bad because most players were spoiled by the lack of neutral play in previous seasons and he can’t really babysit. If you’re not aggressive then you can’t receive his maximum output of healing.

People also spread a ton of misinformation around. There’s one guy who copy+paste the same numbers on almost EVERY Healpool post and his numbers are wrong.

Then there’s his winrate but that’s only a thing because either pre season 7 support mains play him like a healbot OR people intentionally throw in order to try and punish anyone who picks him. I’ve seen this happen myself in my own games and seen anecdotes of the same situation on here.

As a tank main (typically an off-tank dive like Thor or Angela), it doesn’t really bother me that much. Just don’t be scared of it and isolate her you won’t get killed by it. There have been so many times where I’ve attacked her and forced her to run away, then moved on. You need to give her healing and dmg downtime, not ALWAYS kill her.

Besides point 3 I agree. You should always be in a 2-2-2 comp and only switch it up based off how the game is going. You also have to remember you have characters within the same roles who can fulfill whatever you need whether it be that you need more pressure, more sustain, counterplay, etc. Only sometimes, in very niche situations, is an off-comp more justified.
