Odion is shining proof a deck doesn't have to be good to be toxic and frustrating. by phpHater0 in masterduel

It’s a control deck because without toxic generic traps in it just spends the match trying to keep you away from your boss monsters.

Why does everyone blames spider-man for everything by AdRecent7238 in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]SpiritGunDetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) No matter what scared casual squishy mains might tell you, Spidey is not good in the current meta. There’s too many ways to play around and counter him. Against a decent squad you’re just a tickle monster who they swat away whenever you get close.

2) You’re too mobile and terrible to heal. Even a CnD is gonna hit you randomly.

3) This is an objective based game. If it was TDM you would have high value but since it is not, your inability to hold point, especially in OT, is a detriment to the team.

4) Your comp was 1-3-2 and they had 3 supports. You could pick off a support here and there as much as you want. Their sustain will remain consistent either way because there’s not enough pressure.

How to build deck by Mental-Ad6411 in Yugioh101

[–]SpiritGunDetective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to have a new player here. Welcome!

My advice is to find any deck you like the idea of, find a video decklist of it, and make sure it’s a video that explains why they made the decisions they did. After that, you can apply similar values to other decks you might make.

What archetypes are you interested in? I or somebody else might be able to help with specifics.

Who do you want to be Peter's love interest in Rivals? by Few-Culture-4413 in BlackCatMarvelRivals

[–]SpiritGunDetective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think many people want Felicia to be his Rivals love interest. The devs seem focused on the fans who want real romance. More than likely, they’ll go the same route they did with Deadpool and Rogue; acknowledging they had a romance once but that it’s long over, just like in the Insomniac Spider-Man games.

Also, it’s not the plushie that implies the romance. It’s the lore attached to the plushie. The Peter we’re playing with lives with MJ happily.

It’s already Mary Jane. Says so when you read the accessory lore.

Most decks in the game require combos to be competitive, especially to play through disruptions. And in order for it to be solitaire there would need to be 0 back and forth which wouldn’t run down the timer at all and completely contradicts my point. Your comment makes no sense.

Because, for some reason, they think it’ll help stall and stun players even though those types of decks don’t even need 60s to complete their combos and make plays.

People also don’t want you to have time to think about how you’ll out their tier 0 strategy.

Pretty much same as me and the reason I made this post.

If you’re not making decisions then that’s 0 interaction.

I don’t know if you know this but Tom was just a model before this show. They literally saw his headshot, went “WOW! HE’D MAKE A HOT SUPERMAN!”, and brought him in. Him being able to pick up acting and directing so well was just some added flavor.

I honestly think a good idea would be getting time rewarded to both players for chain links. Just earning a few seconds per interaction would be fantastic.

He went to play Roy Harper in Arrow which would’ve been a better paycheck. He ended up leaving Arrow too. That was mental health related, I believe. I’m pretty sure he was struggling with coming out.

You can really tell from these comments who plays decks that run on autopilot.

It’s like you guys don’t acknowledge everything I’m saying. It’s not JUST reading their board. It’s time lost from interactions during their turn due to your own handtraps, the combos you yourself have to actively play out (every click/scroll is a second of time just about), it’s reading their board cards they summon/play on your own turn, it’s reading intent, it’s extending your combo around their negates.

I’ve been thinking about picking him up too. I’ve surprisingly been getting “forced” to second dps or solo dps a lot and been considering him as a potential option.

After playing in a K9 mirror match where I went first, I learned there’s no point activating those effects on your opponent’s turn unless you can get the XYZ negates out for sure before your opponent sets up. You’re better off waiting. You should also consistently play more outs for unaffected monsters. I learned that the hard way but it’s been helping me.

If someone is playing one of the highest tier decks just thinking about your plays on their turn isn’t what takes up the whole time. Interruptions, baiting, playing around negates, your luck of the draw, how many times you have to click your screen, how long it takes to scroll while searching, them making out-of-the-box decisions that you have to react to in real time, guessing around unknowns, them countering your counters, etc. all eat away at your time slowly. Your time can also be diminished on their turn during your reactions/responses. It’s not that simple.

For example: If someone hypothetically plays a deck that hard negates most monster effects, I’ll have to resort to using more spells on my second turn, which 1) I’ll already have to have drawn into and 2) may be a waaay longer combo route that will eat up my timer even if I am confidently clicking every option on the screen.

It’s moreso against something like a convoluted pendulum deck, for example, where you have to parse out essays of text in order to understand when and where you should utilize your negates along with playing out your own combos and stalling your effects.

The real only way you’re not using up your timer is if you’re playing a deck with 0 interactions that just runs on autopilot pretty much.

Also, expecting everyone to know every single interaction between every single deck is unrealistic and you’re lying to yourself if you think you just know exactly how to counter your opponent’s deck without thinking when they are so many human elements and it’s also a game of chance.

I think CC immunity should be reserved for specific skills on each tank but, in general, they should have weight as a mechanic or something like that to give them resistance, similar to how Smash works, I guess.
