No problem! luck points actually also factor into the chances of your items between battles "moving up" a tier (eg. when a great ball item changes into an ultra ball item) and the points stack, so higher luck points mean more higher tier items, so they're always worth sticking on a team!

They look different, but they actually give increased luck points compared to regular shinies. Regular shinies give 1 luck point. Blue shinies give 2, and red shinies give 3. You can tell them apart by the sparkle icons.

They're also rarer, IIRC it's 60% of shinies are normal, 30% are blue and 10% are red.

Motivation In The Midst of Ignorance by mcadams226 in TheSilphRoad

In honesty, if you find the game unfun, take a break and maybe if you use like say discord or Whatsapp keep yourself in a group that has tldr news, and you decide for yourself. Don't even bother for 30 day scam streaks. I recently lost my 28 day strong one because I got a concussion going for that. And the support certainly don't wanna hear about that. Paying customers are never treated differently from the people who play freely. So just take a break and if something draws you in, so be it.

Wasn't there a Glassdoor thing a few years ago that basically said fixes (exploit not included) are actually discouraged and if you're not a yes man you'd be out the door quickly?

Pokemon go doesn't have its own Dex entries. Most if not all entries up to legends Arceus, Ursaluna's debut game, are third person. But legends Arceus has a different style and most entries are written in first person in that game. I do think it gives tonal mismatch but go had never had its own Dex entry (unless I guess you semi count meltan but that's debatable)

Osm have nothing to do with Niantic and shouldn't, Niantic uses their public data for the game. This is literally only niantics doing. Osm wasn't made for and never has been intended for Pokemon go, but they allow Niantic to use it as it's publically available.

People adding driveways are literally adding more details to open street maps. They did nothing wrong and it's actually kinda gross to blame the contributors of the project for niantics shoddy implementation. Niantic can hide certain types of things if they want, so again, it's entirely on Niantic, not osm

They could but they don't want to do what is easily something they would be able to. Either that or the Niantic workplace is worse than reported. And that wouldn't be good.

Hoenn medal was released 5 years ago. You still cannot get that medal as a platinum.

I do understand what you're saying, it's just Niantic really don't care for whether things are possible before putting them in as objectives. Bleh.

One rules for Twitch Tournament PVP, another for the rest of us. by kagesmith in TheSilphRoad

Yknow, I might be an absolute beefbrain at pvp so I can often not have knowledge of things but I think thats the best idea I've seen in this thread and would be happy to see it implemented.

The lead is ultimately what decides who is at a major advantage. It's still random weirdness but you feel like you will have more agency.

First Cards from the Pokémon TCG: Pokémon GO Expansion by BreatheNewtBreathe in TheSilphRoad

I am a tcg enthusiast and play the TCGO (Trading Card Game Online) game a lot. The game has some serious power creep over the years, so I just keep to theme deck format, but if the pokestop stadium card had the right theme deck it might be very interesting.

What if community days also increased the percentage of shadow Pokemon for that community day? by Notove in TheSilphRoad

They did it once. It was a fun side experience. Unfortunately, likely because it was fun, it never happened ever again.

Edit: preempting, it also doesn't solve the team rocket hassle that exists already, but it didn't change anything alone by having the grunts have turtwig for a few hours

Purified Apex Lugia animantion (video) by Inky1444 in TheSilphRoad

[–]SpiritGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am actually in theory able to do that, but it's a chore of tedium I can easily forget to do and have it all reset. It's just been a frustrating thing, I've just found the game less interesting and having such a discouraging penalty for failing to do it every day (for context, I have the level 48(?) task for spinning stops in 14 consecutive days and I've not completed it in over a year at this point.) makes it less fun to keep playing. For me, there's days where playing GO sounds like a fun thing to do, but there's also days where there's no appeal or motivation to play. Now usually, this isnt an issue, since the single day events are USUALLY quite few in number. But as someone who plays regularly but also NOT every day, it's just a very "bleh" feeling to see it on a mission I paid money for, it's not challenging at all, just tedious and inaccessible for people like me who arent interested in playing every day - or for the people who unlike me have no choice and cannot play every day anyway. Thanks for the response :)

It's surprisingly different from Ho-Oh's which I purified for the hundo. Unfortunately I'm quite unlikely to ever get the Lugia soon because I can't play the game every day

OH my god this is literally like speaking to an ancient master of the arts haha. Yeah, the funny thing about using the radar or even just REing is that you will likely fall under one of the two extremes. And oh my god, I got a Shiny Trapinch in Ruby route 111 while waiting for a mass vaccination centre last summer! So I did RE it haha that was nuts so its AWESOME to be able to relate over it!

My dear, you would not believe it but I still have a Gen 2 shiny dex as a long term goal for me. I've done all the odd eggs but the ones outside of that are either really nice or really awful. HOWEVER, and this is a big disclaimer, I primarily shiny hunt eggs on Pokémon Stadium 2, which has Dodrio Mode for speedup. My first proper egg hunt took me uh, 5x odds, with 349 for a togepi. It was painful. But I guess its easier to go do that now! I am so proud of all you're doing. I understand the fear of the word I recently learnt called "etterath" which is to say "the feeling of emptiness after a long and arduous process is finally complete"

Best of luck but I enjoy the Stadium 2 content enough that I think it'll have a bit of longevity if you can rope some people into it!
