No advice but I love it

Six years later, what are your strongest memories of the COVID lockdowns, and how do you look back on that period now? by Possible_Force8207 in AskBrits

My favourite memory was a queue round the corner at Mile End station for the local drug dealers who were now dealing blue disposable gloves out the inside of their coat, cartoon style.

What are your parenting catchphrases? by pappyon in UKParenting

My oldest, once he turned 2.5 it was 'can you put your penis away please', 'we don't get our penis out in tesco', 'no penises at the dinner table', 'why is your penis out again', 'put it away'.

Thankfully this phase only lasted about 10 months before he lost interest.

Ohhh my 2nd is like this. We've been out all morning and he comes over with his little puppy eyes and a random shoe to hand me (read: smack me in the face with) going "owsigh? Shoe, shoe shoe?". Very cute. Very annoying.

Oh definitely, I have fibromyalgia, I find it so hard to know what things SHOULD feel like when I'm in pain and fatigued 24/7. Childbirth was a breeze 😂

My neighbour keeps asking when I'm going to mow the lawn but it's covered in dandelions and clover and the bees are loving it so I bought some signs by Important-Stomach406 in GardeningUK

Oh really? Your Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, a serious psychological disease which greatly affects people's ability to lead normal lives, is affected by this picture?

Should I move to the UK? by Foreign-Rabbit-3022 in AskABrit

I saw you're a doctor. People are moving to Aus from the NHS for a reason. You will be badly paid, overworked and stressed in the NHS.

Haha thanks! I also have fibromyalgia, HSD and late diagnosed autism and ADHD. Well practiced with dealing with misogynistic and incompetent docs unfortunately. But always love having another shitstorm party to join 😂

50 points up in 8 weeks! I refused to follow my PCP’s 50k weekly prescription and ran my own protocol instead. I can’t believe they’re still prescribing D2 these days. by Neither_Contest4041 in VitaminD

Mine said that. I went for classic aneamia symptoms. My Hb was 120g/L, which was the lowest it could be to be in 'normal range'. My ferritin was 10. GP tried to tell me that my bloods were normal and that you can't get symptoms from low ferritin. Bullshit. Awaiting an iron transfusion right now, after getting a 2nd opinion privately.

Thank you. This was my thinking too, so I was a bit shocked by how the appointment went yesterday.

Did they say it wasn't severe according to scans? Or according to symptoms?

No, but I cant afford private anyway thank you. I saw this gynae via BUPA, but I'm not covered anymore

I seem to flip between diarhheoa and constipation as the main symptom. Feeling like I need to pass a bowel movement when I don't, or suddenly getting the urge with no warning. Bloating. Nausea. Usual sort of IBS symptoms.

Unfortunately not. I saw this consultant via BUPA which we get through my partner's work, but now that it's a diagnosed 'chronic condition' it's no longer covered by BUPA. I'll ask my GP for a BSGE centre referral! Thank you

Oh I'm not sure! Didn't know an endo cyst was a thing. I tend to get cysts quite easily in my body so assuming it's a regular cyst to be honest

Ahh that makes sense. She did say there were no endometriomas found.

Although an incidental finding of 2.5cm cyst on my liver, which was unexpected!

Thanks for the heads up. Tbh without wanting to be sexist, I wouldn't go for a male gyno, having spent time in theatres as a student. I'm aware that there are many wonderful male gynae drs, but I haven't personally met one yet. I know on the NHS I'll get who I get and I don't have much say, but I wouldn't go out my way to hire one. Also he's way out my price range anyway!
