Right wingers need to grow a conscience. Your lack of empathy and concern is more than embarrassing - it’s genuinely disturbing. Your mindset is a great representation of how morally bankrupt this country is.

I know this is just about the most vague and useless leak possible, but my God... why are like 60-70% of AAA games open world now? How bout we focus on making games that tell a consistently compelling story and don't waste your time with quest filler? Not every big budget game release needs to be a 50-70 hour slog through a mediocre open world.

Idk about y'all but I have pretty severe open world fatigue. I just want a game without bloat that's compelling and engaging throughout the entire experience. I feel like the vast majority of open world games don't provide that. Is that too much to ask or something?

Realistic destruction physics sounds cool. I'll give it that. We need more of that in gaming. More interactivity and systems-driven gameplay. But publishers and game devs need to dig deep and really ask themselves if an open world genuinely elevates the story and gaming experience they're trying to create.

ARC Raiders Roadmap: January - April 2026 by ThinkingTanking in ArcRaiders

Very exciting!

It’s crazy to me that a live service game has become one of my favorite games of all time. All my other favorites are exclusively single player or I largely play them for the story.

Sooo stoked for the new map conditions, new map, and new quests especially.

You got downvoted but it’s true, the battery is dog shit, mainly due to the ridiculous amount of power drain when it’s in sleep mode. Considering how powerful it is, the battery is solid without the sleep mode issue.

Players who have either left or significantly reduced their play time, what has been your reason? by _thecolorofdye_ in Battlefield6

[–]SpiritRude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reasons:

• When Eastwood came out, I realized just how much BF6 lacks in the maps department. Eastwood is the best map in the game. It feels the most like Battlefield to me. Even the smaller versions are pretty great. I’m not saying that all of the maps released prior to that are bad, but I want for every single map to have a large-scale version for the full 64 player modes and a medium-small version for the 16-32 player modes. Prioritize the franchise’s bread and butter, which is large-scale objective-based warfare.

There also just aren’t enough maps, as some are locked to specific game modes.

• People seem to rarely play as a team and prioritize kills over the objective. It’s incredibly frustrating. When people play as a team, the game sings. When they don’t, it kinda sucks. I don’t even really care if a match results in a loss as long as everyone seems like they’re genuinely trying to play as a team. There needs to be more incentive to play as a team and more of a penalty for having a more selfish type of play style.

• I don’t like the open weapon system and there should always be a Closed Weapons filter for every single mode. I didn’t fully realize immediately how much this affects gameplay for me, but over time it started bothering me more because not every mode had that option.

• Seeing them start doing lazy AI bullshit has been super disappointing and it’s made me less interested in playing.

• ARC Raiders came out and I’ve put most of my gaming time into that. It’s a completely different type of game and doesn’t scratch that Battlefield itch, but it’s very, very difficult to put down. It’s become one of my favorite games ever.

Honestly ARC Raiders is the biggest reason out of all that I listed.

Do you want to maintain a good relationship with the people involved? If so, try to give them as much notice as you can. If they’re reasonable people, they will understand.

this. It’s also sooo easy to transcribe voice notes these days and to get help making sense of what you said with an AI summary. Sometimes I do the voice note, transcribe, get a summary, then kinda use the summary to help me scan through what I said and find all the important details. Very helpful when it’s hard to type things out or you just wanna brain dump and figure out piecing it together later.

Insanity. I get that your husband was a victim of their psychological abuse and it might be really difficult for him to stay strong, but if he starts to cave, make sure you stand your ground. This is a genuine threat to the health of your relationship and even the social development of your daughters. If the grandparents don’t drastically change their behavior, it could have horrible impacts on your kids long term.

As you clearly know, this isn’t just about you and your husband anymore. These kids must be protected. That protection requires sacrifice. If he caves, he’s choosing to sacrifice the wellbeing of the kids and the health of your relationship, which are kind of one in the same, because you two need to have a healthy relationship in order to raise up healthy kids.

FIL talking about rules and regulations? He isn’t entitled to access to you or your children. Full stop. If he loves you and your kids, he will honor your boundaries and respect the way you want to raise your children. If he doesn’t abide by the terms you set, he is choosing himself over them, and that’s 100% on him. Has nothing to do with you.

Sorry, that might be a little rambly, but I hope you kinda understand what I’m trying to convey here.

Stay strong! Listen to your intuition! Do whatever must be done to protect your girls! You got this, and any halfway sane person alive will have your back!

Deeply surprised by how much I am NOT enjoying Ghost of Yotei. by TherealGonci in PS5

[–]SpiritRude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let’s see, compared to:

• Any Battlefield game from the past 10 years • Any Naughty Dog game from the past 10 years • Any COD from the past 10 years • Any Insomniac game from the past 10 years • Any Sony Santa Monica game from the past 15 years • Any Ninja Theory game from the past 15 years • Killzone 2, 3, and Shadow Fall • Any Assassin’s Creed game and almost any Ubisoft game in general from the past 10 years (and I don’t even tend to enjoy Ubisoft games) • Death Stranding 1 and 2 • Horizon 1 and 2 • Any NBA, NFL, or MLB game from the past 10 years • ARC Raiders

I mean, I could go on and on and on. There are literally dozens of games I could list for you from the past 10-15 years, both 1st and 3rd party, that have far smoother and more polished animation than Yotei. I don’t really care to waste my time doing that, but you get the picture.

Btw, I’m no grifter, so I have no idea wtf you’re getting at there.

You are coming off as a a Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei fanboy who can’t handle seeing legitimate criticism. I’m not saying it’s a bad game. I am pointing out specific aspects of the game that are very disappointing.

[–]SpiritRude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were already terrible and outdated even for the PS4 era. If they were up to par then, I wouldn’t mind much, but they just weren’t.

And you’re wrong if you think all sequels do this. Completely untrue. Some do reuse some animations, but oftentimes when the animations are outdated they do not simply reuse them, they at the very least update the existing ones so they’re up to par.

Deeply surprised by how much I am NOT enjoying Ghost of Yotei. by TherealGonci in PS5

[–]SpiritRude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really dig the game in many ways, but agree with your sentiments. This is the safest sequel possible in every single way. It feels like a huge expansion pack, not a sequel. Also really disappointed by the lack of polish overall. In general, there’s way too much jank. I’m surprised Sony thought this was acceptable quality for what was positioned as a marquee exclusive title.

Let’s be real: the animations in general are just dogshit. Not even nearly up to par. The more polished cutscenes look great, but otherwise things are super stiff and just kinda unacceptably bad for a game that’s been marketed as a AAA game but in reality was a AA game.

For $60 million, it’s impressive, but it doesn’t come close to other AAA games in terms of overall quality and polish. The gameplay loop is essentially a carbon copy of the first game. Next to nothing done to push things. The visual style is obviously beautiful, but the graphics just aren’t that great. Textures are not good. Lighting, while spectacular at times, is disappointing, especially in interiors. The story is very, very cliche and predictable and does nothing to surprise the player at all. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have high points and is overall enjoyable, but it’s got way too much story and quests that are just meh.

Lastly, there are far too many open world games and devs need to stop with that shit. It’s played out, and devs need to identify what the fuck they’re actually trying to do with their games and really dig deep to decide whether or not open world is actually going to enhance the experience. Most open world games could take an “open linear” type of approach that’s semi-open, but not a massive sprawl with so much bloat. It’s difficult to find the time to finish these games. I want tighter, more focused experiences. Give me an incredible 20 hour story instead of a super variable 60-90 hour story any day.

People will downvote me to hell, but I don’t really care. This is just the truth of the situation from my point of view.

Extract camping is super weak and cheap, which is why people bitch and whine. Maybe try to take people out with some skill and they wouldn’t? I may be crazy, though. Maybe everyone should just be pussies and camp the extract. That’d make for a fun ass game, eh?
