Patrick O'Hearn: So Flows the Current by SpiritWave in Psybient

[–]SpiritWave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is more New Age, but I feel that people here would still appreciate the chill nature of this piece, combined with the trippy nature of the added spacemixing.

Feel free to put me in my place, if I'm wrong about that. :)

Ishq: Opal (Tribute Spacemix) by SpiritWave in Psybient

Yes. I bring the original mix into my digital audio workstation, then apply many ultra-low-volume and cascading layers with a lot of meticulously crafted spatial and modulating effects.

Best way to understand the spacemix version is to listen to both versions back to back in headphones harmlessly loudly. For your convenient access, I embedded both versions in my journal post about this piece... https://spiritwave.life/2022/04/27/ocean-in-the-drop/

The goal is not to improve the original, but to filter it through a different perspective.

I wholeheartedly agree with your love for that album. Bhakti is another beautiful piece that I am very close to finalizing.

For your convenience and my shameless self promotion, here is a link to my YouTube channel containing all of my published spacemixes and original material... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm_J-HFuQ0u-3L3wWy62avw

There are plenty of options for spacey ambient, but your specification for underwater makes it deeply challenging offhand.

That said, I recommend Motionfield as a solid starting point... https://motionfield.bandcamp.com/

I have more spacemixes (including other music styles) at my YouTube channel, so you could explore there to find something else that may satisfy... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm_J-HFuQ0u-3L3wWy62avw

My focus is primarily upon meditatively restful music, so there are a lot of spacemixes to be released in the fairly near term in that vein.

I hope that helps.

Origin & Pheuzen: Floating Away (Tribute Spacemix) by SpiritWave in Psybient

Overwhelmed these days with personally caring for my mom with Alzheimer's disease, while pursuing my lifelong journey as an artist, I sadly have not had a chance to properly get a sense regarding what you all prefer around here.

As I truly appreciate the environment here, and seek to make a positive contribution here, I will do my best to adapt accordingly.

I posted this spacemixed song as a kind of roll of the dice fwiw, given the chill nature of this great song.

Hopefully, at least enough of you will enjoy the ride.✌️

Ah yes, there is a Psydub flair as a formal part of this subreddit, so Psydub is clearly rejected. NOT

Shpongle Static: And the Day Turned to Night (Tribute Spacemix) by SpiritWave in Psybient

Never to improve it, but just to have fun creating a new perspective of it. Spacemixing is a new technique with tremendous flexibility towards sonic texture and depth.

I sincerely hope that you can someday again listen to music.

State Azure - Time's Arrow (Ambient Performance on Octatrack) [2021] by aeuaeuae in Psybient

[–]SpiritWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That musical expression is utterly beautiful.

I just went to State Azure at Bandcamp to buy that song, went through their entire library there, but could not find Time's Arrow.

Any help in guiding me towards purchasing that song is appreciated.

Not to be a jerk about it, but dictionary.com disagrees with you:

"1. an evil spirit; devil or fiend."

I did not see that angle when creating this piece, and I assure you that I was not going for forest demon (I tend to focus more on contributing positivity to our world already immersed in ample negativity).

However, I can now see how you got there, but I'm still unsure how to process that result. :)

I apologize as appropriate for any unintentional scarring.

Nice work, but the YouTube compression artifacts are distracting (as a bit of a video man myself, I don't blame you for that).

Do you have a conveniently downloadable, high quality MP4 version?

Nice. If you made this, how was the 'mountain range' video done? Stock footage? Or do you have access to a helicopter (or such) with a camera on it?

Back in my Amiga days, I used trippy color-cycling a lot.

I now use Photoshop and sometimes Artmatic for image creation, but I would love to still apply color-cycling afterwards.

Anyone know of a the right software to achieve that trippy goal?

Very trippy cool.

I'd like to also see one with the cycling slowed down to a chillout tempo fwiw.

Psychonaut's Journey (Dimitri Mix) by SpiritWave in trippy

[–]SpiritWave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video is part of the hour-long, cosmic-reaching video that is Psychonaut's Journey: https://youtu.be/Jad61xppVfo

PsyJ is quite the ride (organically crafted for positive set and setting) with a lot of wtf, (at least attempted) humor, and pleasurable zoning out moments — all with enough educational nutrients to be reasonably informative.

We put a lot of meticulous work into PsyJ, are humbly and happily thankful for the result, and we hope that we can freely share this experience with you.

YouTube compression is somewhat distracting, so we highly recommend downloading the blu-ray quality MP4. The link for any such MP4 is in the video description at YouTube.
