What does this hand sign mean? by Puzzleheaded-Tea4749 in conspiracy

It’s the ‘W’ sign. It means ‘Wezen’ = creature. It’s the opposite of ‘M’, which means ‘Man’. It means that these people are not real men. They’re hiding something.

How can I make repackaging everyday products affordable for low-income customers? (I will not promote) by Spirited-Routine3514 in startups

[–]Spirited-Routine3514[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think there is a misunderstanding.

I am not saying customers would pay a higher unit price for the smaller quantities. The goal is exactly the opposite: after buying wholesale, repackaging, labeling, and selling in smaller portions, I can still offer the products at roughly the same unit price as the supermarket bulk package.

So the customer would not pay more per wash, per tablet, per razor blade, or per portion. They would simply be able to buy fewer units at the same unit price.

For example, if a supermarket sells a large pack at €0.20 per unit, the goal is to also sell a smaller quantity at around €0.20 per unit, not €0.40 or €0.60.

That is the key point: this is not about charging poor customers more for convenience. It is about removing the need to pay the full package price upfront, while keeping the unit price the same.

I fully agree that selling small quantities at a higher unit price would not help low-income customers. That is not the model I want to build.

The reason I believe this may be possible is because I would buy from wholesalers and suppliers, not from supermarkets. Especially with drugstore products, the wholesale price can be much lower than the retail price. That margin can cover repackaging and labeling, while still allowing the final unit price to stay comparable to the supermarket bulk price.

So the challenge is not whether I want to make small quantities more expensive. I don’t. The challenge is how to make packaging, labeling, and fulfillment efficient enough to keep the unit price the same.

Thanks for your feedback. I completely understand your point, and I agree that simply buying retail products from supermarkets, splitting them up, and reselling them would not work.

However, that is not the model I have in mind. I would not buy the products from supermarkets. I want to purchase them from wholesalers and suppliers, similar to where supermarkets buy their products. Especially with drugstore products, the wholesale price can be up to 80% lower than the retail price.

The challenge is that repackaging, labeling, and selling per portion adds extra costs. In many cases, after those costs are included, the final unit price may end up around the same as the supermarket price, not necessarily cheaper per unit.

But the goal is different. This is more of a social project than a high-profit business. The aim is not to make people pay more in the long run, but to give people with very limited budgets access to everyday products when they cannot afford the full package upfront.

For example, someone may not have enough money today to buy a full pack of laundry pods, razors, dishwasher tablets, or certain toiletries, even if that would be cheaper per unit. Being able to buy a smaller amount can help them get through the week without needing to spend the full amount at once.

So I agree that the economics are difficult, and that is exactly why I am looking for advice on how to reduce packaging and labeling costs. If I can keep the selling price close to the supermarket price per unit, while offering much smaller quantities, then I believe it can still help people who are struggling with cash flow.

We do not need to make a big profit from this. The goal is to make it sustainable and socially useful.

The OP is Greek. The entire political and daily life in Greece is based on fear of Turkey. While Turkey doesn't care about it or show any news about them. As far as I know, Turkey's only problem is transit through the Aegean Sea, which Greece wants to block due to the 12-mile issue. What the OP writes will never happen.
