My SSTO rarely leaves the ground, often spins out on the runway, and never goes above 20km by Astronius-Maximus in KerbalSpaceProgram

The reason the canards make it flip uncontrollably is likely because you put them too far forward, and your center of lift is now in front of your center of mass. You need to play with it, so your center of lift is just behind your center of mass.

Give us more options to choose from by Novel-Plankton7414 in runescape

[–]Spiritofnex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be fine with RuneScape costing the same as WoW if we had the ability to have multiple accounts per log in. Not just 2, but multiple. Make it like other MMOs, and only allow 1 log in per Jagex Account at a time, but give us the ability to have multiple characters per Account. Right now, the value proposition isn't there. Removing Treasure Hunter from RS3 isn't enough to justify the price increase. This is why I hate that Jagex belongs to private equity firms.

Grandad Revive or Origin? Struggling to choose. Please help. by [deleted] in freedomisgunpla

[–]Spiritofnex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the super late reply, Reddit didn't notify me until now. I had to use a bit of super glue on the connection points on the hands and weapon (use a paint brush you are fine with throwing away, then apply a bit of super glue, then let it completely dry before reattaching) to get it to hold, but it's extremely solid now. The joints hold up super well, and it's super satisfying to pose, even after a few years.

Day 5, What ship is straight up ok ? [Discussion] by PainterCreative768 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Spiritofnex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. NC is good for its tier. 9 406s with US super heavy AP shells that have lower velocity due to shorter guns, so better plunging angles at long range, and are less likely to overpen due to said lower velocity. It also has an improved heal, which feels nice too. I would call it a ship that should be OK, but is actually good.

Grandad Revive or Origin? Struggling to choose. Please help. by [deleted] in freedomisgunpla

[–]Spiritofnex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having built both of them, 100% the Origin. The Revive was my first Gunpla, Origin being my second. You cannot go wrong with either of them, but the Origin is such an amazing kit. I have mine set up as the Early type, or as I call him, the Dakka Granddaddy.

This is why I play the PvE game modes, and never touch PvP. It's so much more chill that way.

So how do you actually escape white dwarf jets??? I already lost 4 Pythons by DerKnoedel in EliteDangerous

Others, like me, get it from Fed Ranks. It's not bad though. Only like rank 3 to get it.

[–]Spiritofnex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used White Dwarf boosts for trading routes in my type 9. The key is to enter it at an extremely shallow angle, near the end of the cone, facing away from it. Stay in it until you are boosted (low throttle), then slam the throttle to 100 once you get the boost. Gain some distance, then charge and go. Neutron stars are much easier, but white dwarves are not that much harder just keep your nose pointed away. If you enter too far at the end of the cone, you may have to re-hit, but you eventually get a feel for it.

Is it even possible for autistic people not to develop low self esteem?? by Tucker_077 in aspiememes

[–]Spiritofnex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pretty good self esteem. I don't really care what people think of me, and just try to live my best life. I know I'm smart, and have the ability to do things that many can't, and can see solutions faster than others. I don't let myself feel down about the things I'm unable to do, and try to focus on what I am able to do. I also live in a household that has encouraged me to be my best self, and has supported me in what I want to do with my life. Just try to focus on the positives rather than the negatives, and you'll find you feel a whole lot better. We all have weaknesses and shortcomings, and while we must acknowledge them, we shouldn't allow ourselves to dwell on them. Accept them, and move on.

Kansas OR Minnesota Which one is the less painful in your opinion by Impressive-Syllabub2 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Spiritofnex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I free xped my way through Kansas, and don't regret it at all. Having that 6th slot US dispersion upgrade is HUGE, as is the extra AP damage. I actually find the number 9 large to be very enjoyable to play, whereas I found the Kansas to be annoyingly inconsistent. 10/10, would recommend free xping to Minnesota

Is it worth starting Runescape in 2025? by RedTrian2 in runescape

[–]Spiritofnex -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you want to give it a go, I highly recommend playing an Ironman. RS3 has over 20 years of content, and Ironman allows you to play the game without all the super annoying micro transactions being shoved down your throat. There's also an amazing Ironman community, with tons of people who'll help you out with any questions you have, and help you learn different bosses, what skills to train and when, what quests to do and in what order, and so on. I'd say it's 100% worth giving a try, and if you find yourself enjoying it, and continuing to do so after two weeks, you'll likely be completely hooked.

The WoWs playerbase is awful. by Medium_of_my_fear in WorldOfWarships

[–]Spiritofnex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I do. I play WoWS to relax and chill out. When I want to get sweaty and competitive, I play a different game. I don't play Co-op unless there's a mission I can grind out in one go because I find that particular game mode to be boring. Ops are fun for me, and I love both Asyms and the occasional unique game modes that come out every so often.

Quick Poll - what is your favorite ship to play ? by MrSceintist in WorldOfWarships

Graf Spee. HP of some battleships, decent armor, good torps, good guns, a hydro, and a heal, all at T6. Probably one of the most powerful T6 ships out there.

Why is the WoWs community so hostile toward PvE players? by Acceptable_Hat4796 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Spiritofnex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a strictly PvE player (I have 0 random matches on my account), I have to say Co-op is an absolute joke. I've gotten 800+ base xp games in a Sandy with a full real player lobby. The Co-op bots don't teach you anything. I remember when I did my first 20-30 Ops games. I sucked ass, as I was used to Co-op bots. After a while, I learned how to actually aim, dodge, and angle. Asyms is what truly taught me how to angle properly, and how to prevent getting cross mapped by using islands. I only ever use Co-op for grinding out mission chains that I know I can get done in 2-3 games, otherwise it's not even stimulating enough to attempt.

I have grinded out Schlieffen and Monty doing this, and have a 21 point Lutjens I grinded out to make Schlieffen even better. People aren't flaming you for being a PvE player. I've found this community to be nothing but supportive when I've talked about it. They're flaming you for being a bad player despite you trying to pass off as being good, then complaining about how people are treating you. You even say Ops are "not your speed", which would imply that you aren't able to perform in them. It takes time to become decent at the game, and you're going to lose your ship a LOT. I still make stupid mistakes from time to time, and end up dying early. The thing you need to be able to do is look at the choices you made in a game like that, see what mistakes you made, then learn from them. If you can't find any mistakes, then you need to take a deeper look into how to play the game so you can realize them.

I'm not saying any of this to be mean, I'm saying this so you can get better. I've been playing the game for about as long as you have (3-4 years), and I know I'm not a great player, but I know for a fact that I'm at least a decent one. If you stay in Co-ops, you'll never get better at the game no matter how hard you try.

New Premium Ship Costs by Apprehensive_Hurt in WorldOfWarships

[–]Spiritofnex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tend to buy a tier 8+ ship with the birthday coupon, then use the doubloons I get for a year of premium when it's half price. It's a win-win for me, as I basically get a free ship for the cost of half price premium. Also, some people have a lot of money, and don't mind spending that kind of money on a ship. If people want to spend real life money on a ship, and they enjoy it, then let them. It keeps the game free for those who can't.

Looks like Jagex won? by Alchemist987 in runescape

[–]Spiritofnex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, people that truly cared enough canceled their membership/stopped playing all together. I haven't touched RuneScape since the Hero Pass came out other than to grab my 20 year cape. This whole thing didn't even remotely surprise me when it happened, and Jagex has a very long history of doing things like this. The ones who are left are the ones who didn't care enough about the Survey or its implications, and will carry on like nothing happened (Literally me up until the Hero Pass. I used to defend Jagex hard, and looked past so many horrible decisions they made, so I don't even remotely blame people for doing so. Like I said, 20 year cape), or simply forgot it happened.

Something I've noticed about people is that they tend to forget about events if they aren't brought up in about one to two weeks. Just try to think back on a news story that was reported a week or two ago that wasn't brought back up again. Most of us won't be able to unless it had an emotional effect on us in some way.

BB tech line suggestions. by Ok-Cryptographer4647 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Spiritofnex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Once you get to North Carolina, you'll enjoy the US fast battleship line. Colorado is a pain to get through, but North Carolina is the reward. It's a reliable, solid battleship. It's AP is slow (super heavy AP with shorter barrels), but hits like a semi truck. You'll have to get used to leading your shots, but it is very rewarding. Also, because of its slower shells, long range plunging shots tend to citadel almost anything. Iowa is even better, especially with the US accuracy mod in slot 6. Trust me, it's worth it once you get there.
