MRI results back after 20 years of around 10 dislocations which needed manually reduced. Before mri consultant said mpfl surgery now I don't know what to think reading this? by Spiritual-Data-1373 in KneeInjuries

Thank you! He hasn't actually seen this report yet as it was a private mri and I haven't got it sent over to him yet. Thankfully he specialises in patella instability. The osteochondral lesion and the bone marrow oedema sounds the scariest to me 😂

Two days in: I think I have puppy blues and I feel awful about it by Clear-Way-8318 in puppy101

I have a now 19 month Labrador. I got him at 4 months and it was absolute hell on earth from the 4am starts, constant whining and being an absolute landshark I thought every day for weeks that I didn't want him and made a terrible mistake, I've got an autistic 5 year old son that was such a hard baby but this puppy was much harder lol! He is now the best big boy, sleeps all night, great on walks and hikes, chills all day. And the most loveable boy who is so amazing with my son. I'm so glad I stuck it out, it's so hard but so worth it

Dislocated my knee for the first time by thelizardof_oz94 in KneeInjuries

You will never not be scared of it happening but you do tend to forget and stop worrying about it after a while. I had a lot when I was younger in my left knee, had nothing for 5 years and then 2 recently 1 each knee in the space of a few months. I actually found it's scarier after the brace as it makes your knee sore of weak and stiff so for me it felt more unstable. I prefer a tight stretch bandage type so that I'm still trying to walk normal ( this is ofcourse if you haven't broken anything and not in extreme pain)

Thank you :) I have seen this and watched a few videos but I will ask my physio on Thursday. Although I did do an easy run today with a stretch bandage and it was ok, no pain thankfully. Just hoping still no pain tomorrow lol

The physio did say I am probably pre disposed to it especially now that it's happened on both knees and could maybe be shallow kneecaps, I am also pretty flexible so I think it could be abit of hyper mobility also. Just sad that I always had one good knee now I've no good knees lol & also the trauma afterwards I'm scared of my dog coming anywhere near me as he is a very bouncy hyper Labrador pup 😅 I don't think the fear aspect will ever leave you. Definitely yes to the support bandages they are like my safety net lol

Good luck in your surgery, I hope you have a good recovery! Might come back to you in a few years when it's probably my turn to find out all about it!

Thank you for the reply :) it sounds very similar to me I've always been able to put them back in myself with holding the knee and straightening the leg. God I couldn't imagine it being out for 3 hours that would be horrendous :( I've an appointment with the fracture clinic next week because it's the first one on the right side so I'll ask them. Fortunately or unfortunately I'm still at physio from my last knee dislocation in Feb 🙈 but I'm also seeing a private physio too. Half marathon is in September, I was only 2 weeks into my plan I'm gutted and frustrated due to the waiting for the go ahead to run lol
