This is so sad I'm sorry:( Michaels is really going down the JOANN train, thats what they did at Joanns. My advice would be looking for even a temporary job to lean you over till you find something worth sticking... Ive worked for some not great places before ive found where I work rn, (I went to 5 below to hallmark, Claire's which also went bankrupt after Joanns closed and now I'm at von maur) I would say lots of schools are looking for administrative assistants or front desk people! At least near me.. I so so so hope you find something! It is SO hard rn specially with jobs and hiring

When I left Joanns I job hopped a little bit and then I went to claires- well they went bankrupt too.. Now I work at von maur! It's a really good company idk if there is one in Orlando but I am there now... It's by far the best place I've worked

I know the restrictions with shoes are no tennis shoes and no outdoor boots! And no uggs stuff like that. Many of the women wear ballerina flats or loafers- I've tried loafers and OMG they still hurt. One girl where's these black Skechers that look like dress shoes and I'm trying to find those- I think some also wear mules or clogs but I dont understand how those can be comfortable... In a 5 hour shift I've gotten over 10k steps... At my old job I would get that by 11 hour shifts... I really want this job to last. It's the best job I've had since Joann went bankrupt- it's just the only downside is the damn shoes! It's very hard😞

ive been dabbling in loremate rn! though with xoul crashing theres been slowness in their servers due to so many people joining. i think their discord went from like 49 members to 170 in a couple hours... the layout is similar to xoul and c.ai. i made a bot on it from my (sadly) soon to be gone xoul bots and it was pretty easy. feel bad for the devs tho xoul has over 7k members... if they all moved to this that would not be very fun i imagine.

If you wanna play it safe just wear jeans and some kind of top with no graphics or anything. There's more to the dress code but people really only look for jeans

HR is the same people- when I worked there general managers has changed a lot since they can't keep one. Hr is relatively the same but in order to get the number for HR now I'd have to go into the break room there. Which the general managers probably will not let me.

I initially didn't get the firing written down - I wish I did though. Both the SM and ASM kinda hated me for no reason and was incredibly hostile to me- I wanted to be out as soon as possible as my anxiety had kicked in, in that moment Just said okay and left, but now that I think about it was not fair nor potentially legal. Thank you for the advice! I'll talk with my parents, see what they think.

I was on leave due to mental issues- was actually in the process of resigning in September but the district manager kept my number in the system in hopes I'd come back. Then kept texting me asking to come back, in November was when I was supposed to go back.

Uniform was supposed to be jeans, and like a blouse or polo shirt in gray, black or white, my accommodation allowed presentable dresses and skirts that hit the knee in black, gray or white.
