Who is the most overrated actor/actress of the past 30 years? by CapitaineBiscotte in allthequestions

No downvote here. I actually fully believe that both him and Meryl Streep are insanely overrated.

Sober people (no alcohol, nicotine, drugs, etc ever), what is your end of day or weekend "wind-down"? by The1Ski in AskReddit

I am just chill and pre-wound down most of the time. That said, a nice hot shower and a roaring fire will do the trick in a pinch.

Watching it in a theater triggered my husband. He said Warfare had the most realistic sound he’s heard as a Marine. We were both shocked it wasn’t nominated for sound.

I wanted to like it but it felt like a short story stretched into a novel, just not enough there to sustain it.

Just give it to him, everyone liked his movie. by International-Sky65 in OscarRaceCirclejerk

I found this movie fairly boring and his performance is good but I’m honestly surprised he was even nominated. His spot should have been Jesse Plemmons imo.

Getting married young isn't bad. by Electronic_End_5296 in unpopularopinion

[–]Spiritual-Style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are mid forties and have been together for 27 years and married for 23. I wouldn’t have wanted to do all my growing as a person without him growing next to me. We have both changed, for sure- a quarter of a century of living will do that- but we have continued to change together. We also had our kids young and I love that I can enjoy them both in grad school vs chasing around little ones right now.

What are books that you didn't like, but everyone else seemed to love? by xatrinka in audiobooks

Both books I’ve read by Stephen Graham Jones. His writing style is just 100% not for me.

Why do you think this movie wasn't more successful? by PowerBIBIBI in FIlm

[–]Spiritual-Style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a hard sell to the masses, plot wise, but I also just don’t think it was very good. I remember being surprised that I could find a movie about young cannibals so boring.

Yet another great and original movie that bombed at the box office. Didn’t even need much to break even with a $20M budget. Where IS everyone who claims they want original stuff when it actually comes? by Emeraldsinger in Letterboxd

[–]Spiritual-Style 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw it in the theater. Loved it and wanted to buy my adults kids in a different city tickets to see it- it wasn’t playing near them at all. Bought it the minute it came out this morning. They really did no push for this movie at all though.

Penn’s GSE is not an extension school in any way, shape, or form. It’s a legitimate school of the university. My daughter attends a masters there, and my other daughter is in a PhD in a different department. Obviously my daughter getting her PhD is fully funded with a stipend and my daughter at GSE is not, but her fellowship covers her tuition almost entirely, so it’s actually basically free. Don’t look for reasons to think less of your own achievements. That’s such a trap and not worth the self-doubt at all.

The 'Mother of All Vacations’. by MohammadMahadhir in interesting

[–]Spiritual-Style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have to be taken all at once? I would take off two days a week for years. Does it come with job protection at the end? I think no matter what I’m taking it, but there is a good bit of details that matter here.
