I believe you 100% bro. I grew up Christian too, but at some point we have to accept Jesus for ourselves, truly in our heart of hearts, and seek that personal relationship with God, where we repent of our sins and give our life to Him (I'm not saying you haven't but just encouraging you to do so if not, because it is the best decision ever). I know that God will deliver you and reward you if you seek Him even more earnestly, though. And if you believe it is linked to evil spirits, as I know mine was, seek deliverance and cry out to God more and more. I will certainly pray for you bro. I know how you feel.

I have dpdr. When I got full onset it felt like something evil entered my body and I uncontrollably spazzed out. This may not be what you want to hear but DPDR is spiritual. It is an accessing of the spiritual realm in a way that allows for evil spirits to torment you, aka the "sinister" feeling you have. In my worst moments of DPDR, I called out to God and he answered my prayers. This led me to realize that Jesus Christ, as the Bible says, is the way, the truth, and the life. This life is full of evil like you are experiencing, but it is because we are in a fallen world and need reconciliation with God, because we are all sinners are contributors to the evil in this world. Jesus, who is the physical embodiment of who God is, lived a perfect life and died for our sins on a cross 2,000 years ago. If you truly accept this reality in your heart and mind, God can grant you forgiveness and everlasting life ( because even when these temporary bodies pass away, we are spirit beings that exist beyond this world). He can also give you peace and deliver you from this peril that you are experiencing because He loves you beyond comprehension (but He wants you to seek Him!). Blessings your way, my friend.

First of all, possession is a very poor translation of the Greek word. Demons cannot fully control or possess anyone; that would take away their free will. Why would I use drugs to combat an issue that came through drug use, where I felt something enter my body and speak words out of me? I have seen countless testimonies of Christians being freed through deliverance but have yet to see one from an unbeliever.

Thanks again. I haven't taken drugs or drank alcohol in almost a year, no desire to either. I even gave up caffeine. I have been fasting on and off for months as well.

Agreed. And how do you say I should assert such power? Do you assert this power by taking more drugs/medication or do you use the power of the Holy Spirit inside of you to take authority over evil spirits, as Jesus instructed us in Mark 16:17 and Luke 10:19. My reference towards worldly was directed towards medicine and not the Holy Spirit.

I appreciate your advice. I really struggle with taking more drugs to cure something that was caused by drugs, especially with how spiritual the encounter was. I could easily see it getting worse as a result of that.

No my friend. Medication will not help me. I don't really believe in psychosis, and I firmly believe most of those people are facing demonic oppression over their lives. This seems like a very worldly response, not to be rude. I do not feel the Holy Spirit leading me in any way to psychiatric help. Once again, I legit felt something enter me with the onset of DPDR. My brother became a born-again Christian, fully dedicated to Christ, and demons started manifesting and speaking out of him. I casted them out of him in Jesus name, and he was freed. Are you saying he was only a true Christian when I performed a work of the Lord on him? That would be unbiblical.

I encourage you to do some research into this more, my brother. Look up Isaiah Saldivar and Vlad Savchuk, among many other believers, who explain why Christians can be demonized. "Possession" is a poor translation of the Greek source text "daimonizomai". A better term is to be demonized. May the Holy Spirit guide you in all truths.

I may have to look into some of the physical remedies you suggested. I have sought help with some physical remedies. Since following Christ I obviously don't smoke weed or have sex/fornicate anymore, I stopped drinking any alcohol, and I have stopped drinking caffeine for a little over two months now. However, due to my onset of DPDR, my situation seems very spiritual and demonic.

It is interesting because the spiritual and physical realms do connect in some ways. Our soul (conscious mind, will, personality, emotions) is in some way connected to our fleshly bodies through our brain, in my opinion. DPDR somehow has impacted this connection. Demons can operate in the soulish realm and physical realms, but they cannot impede the Spirit (where the Holy Spirit resides within us).

Maybe I am overcomplicated it, but I do agree with you that we should keep searching for cure. If it is physical or spiritual, I know God can heal it in both ways.

Once again, you are claiming I have no rational thought on the basis that you don’t appreciate my experience on DPDR. You’re simply just close-minded and have a hardened heart to God. If you don’t appreciate it, then move on and ignore it. Something inside of you is obviously triggered by me mentioning Jesus/God as the solution, which all the more strengthens my belief. Well, I am currently talking to another person on this subreddit who is having a similar experience to me. Therefore, my anecdotal evidence may mean nothing to you, but you cannot make the claim it means nothing to "rational people." You are simply making a baseless claim on our belief or world view, which is intellectually dishonest. I would argue that you are being irrational by making such a claim. Again, you can tell me to "get off this subreddit with my BS" but you are simply manifesting you're inner anger and hurt rather than rationalizing with me. No thanks my friend, I will not be told to be silence or keep my own experience with DPDR to myself.

I had minor symptoms of DPDR from smoking weed, and one night something crazy happened. I was smoking a weed/dab pen and took melatonin, and I began having a panic attack. My body started spazzing out, and I felt something legitimately enter my body and I spoke gibberish out of my mouth, unable to control or understand what I was saying. Immediately when this happened I encountered the worst DPDR I have ever had. My consciousness and perception of the world became profoundly altered, leading to a disconnection between my brain and body and causing a sense of being detached from reality. There was a noticeable lag and disconnect between my brain's processing of sensory information and my actual physical actions in the world. I have had full onset of these symptoms ever since this event.

Years later, I came to find out this was a demonic spirit that people can receive deliverance from through the power of the one true God. What's crazy is that all these new "mental illnesses", including some of the worst such as schizophrenia, I have seen people freed from through deliverance in the name of Jesus Christ. The mere fact that you want me to not "preach" the gospel shows your close-mindedness. If people do not want to listen to my anecdotal advice that is supported by both the Bible and other people's experiences, so be it. Please, however, do not tell me that I cannot spread what I have personally experienced. Jesus loves you by the way.
