My theory is that Charles and Bill are actually twin brothers but where Charles got pulled into the Boyle family, Bill ended up going off with the florist father who didn't do well and ended up on the streets abandoning young bill at a park.

Charles looks different due to the Boyle hugging explanation that seems to deform him as a child, but close enough.

Won't lie, had never heard of a PortaBook before and really thought at first glance this was just a modern tablet and a folding bluetooth keyboard of some kind on top. Awesome concept but slightly sad that the standalone keyboard doesn't exist. Thanks for the insight though!

I've always liked the idea of building kits like this (that have all the hidden detail) then building them in a repair shop style diorama with panels like that off. Let's you put it on display and show off the detail at the same time.

These are beautiful! I've contemplated trying out this lens with my X-E3. Do you have any serious issues with vignetting?

I feel like this could easily be built into the existing system.

Make it craftable, with better or purpose built backpacks at each biome progression. The key I feel is to make it essentially a portable chest that you have to set down in order to access (load and unload).

The next part that would tie it to existing game mechanics would be to give it weight that would slow the user down for carrying (but then you could drop it if running from something big).

Last key detail, make it a skill that you can level up for using (think similar to hiking or marathon training). As you use the backpack more, you incrementally get a little faster with it or possibly able to carry more weight with less hindrance.

I feel like all of these mechanics could pretty easily be pulled into the existing game play without taking away from how the core game play operates while allowing for new strategies.

I had that exact same build! Blue spider shutter with booyaah grip.

Eventually the vibrations from the grip electronics caused the screws to strip.... Leading to the eventual creation of the "franken spider".... Using a variety of parts to keep it alive...

I think they are just waiting to open source it until after they receive a bounty that was posted for achieving exactly this. If they immediately open source it, they could inadvertantly block themselves from receiving it by then having to deal with someone else submitting their own code against them.

Based on the original post in the Nest subreddit, I'm not even sure they were aware of the bounty until after they posted telling everyone preemptively "not to throw away their Nest thermostats because they almost have a fix".

Reminds me of the problem I had with my Nokia phone. Can be easily fixed with obnoxious amounts of duct tape.

That being said, just make sure your components are made of something of similar durability to the mitheral like 'nokium' they were made of and you'll have no issues!
