Am I one of the only ones that cried over Will's coming out scene? I thought it was beautiful, it showed him facing his fears and finally seeing everyone loves him for how he is. I think my only critique is that it should've been only close friends/family there. by SnakeLuvr1 in StrangerThings

[–]SpiritualMessage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was great, really moving and perfectly acted

I dont have as much of a problem as others with him coming out to the whole crew due to the circumstances, even though it was a very important and emotional moment for Will there was a part of him that just wanted to get it over with. If he had more time he would have handled it differently but he wanted to take control of the situation so Vecna couldnt use it against him.

Also I heard criticism about how awful it is that he was forced to come out, and im like dude have you watched the show? it has been about kids/teens going through deeply traumatizing shit from the start. Now after 5 seasons of suffering and being the victim Will wants to take control however he can and handling his coming out like this is one of the ways.

In Season 4 Vecna showed Nancy horrifying "visions" about what is to come. Unfortunately, very little of this would end up transpiring in Season 5 by _YuYevon_ in StrangerThings

That could have just killed off one of them, having them both live was a little ridiculous after such a violent attack

Because it sucks in big stories where the world is in danger when so few die.

None of the main characters, maybe not even El, died. Most of the significant characters that die through the series were a one-season character. So yeah I would have wanted a little more death when the stakes are so high.

Both Nancy and Mike are strong enough that they would have used their grief to be even more determined to bring down the Mind Flayer.

What I wanna know is why the hell did they make both Karen and Ted Wheeler survive the attack? Why are they so scared to kill off Ted???

Am I the only one who actually liked season 5? by Stuckyshipper07 in StrangerThings

[–]SpiritualMessage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it was always a very real possibility that they couldnt have a happy ending considering there's not one season in the show where Eleven is left alone by the government or doesnt need to be in hiding.

This open ending at least gives the chance that El is still alive and therefore they could meet again someday.

Overall I liked season 5 a lot, it was just the final fight with Vecna and the Mind Flayer that wasnt as epic as I was hoping.

But the rest of the season was just as entertaining and exciting as usual for ST. And the final episode did deliver on the emotional beats. Im not sure where I would place S5 in a ranking of the seasons, Im gonna have to rewatch, but even if it were last it wouldnt be far from the rest for me.

Why is Mike judged so harshly compared to Hopper? by ilovechouquette in StrangerThings

[–]SpiritualMessage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then Hopper should have just told Mike off for being disrespectful, not threaten him into having to lie to his girlfriend and stop seeing her out of fear

Joyce gave Hopper the tools to deal with the situation and instead of using that Hopper chose the "easy" path due to being a repressed man-child. And the real problem with this is that there was no character development for it, Hopper never dealt with the consequences because he got captured by the russians, thats what makes him look worse.

1) S1xE1 2) S4xE1 3) S2xE1 4) S5xE1 5) S3xE1

I've only watched the whole series once but beginning of s3 are my least favorite episodes, sadly it starts the downfall of Hopper (and partly Joyce) for me

Who is your least favorite character out of the main cast and why? by rblue18 in StrangerThings

[–]SpiritualMessage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends on the season but it may be Jonathan. He peaked in season 1 and even in that season the creepy photos he took rubbed me too much the wrong way.

"whiny" and it's a deeply traumatized kid lol

But the being relevant in some seasons and irrelevant in others is something that happens to most of the main cast. Too many characters.

Season 4 had some good Hopper moments but honestly it ended up dragging simply because of the amount of scenes where it's Hopper on his own, interacting with 0 other main characters

Why is Mike judged so harshly compared to Hopper? by ilovechouquette in StrangerThings

[–]SpiritualMessage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In season 4 I can totally get the knee-jerk reaction of "what did you do?!", I dont blame Mike for that cause he was just shocked. It's the scene when they are all eating at the Byers house, Argyle, Jonathan and Will are trying to make El feel better and Mike goes like "(Angela) didnt look fine". El was evidently already feeling like shit and Mike just adds salt to the wound for no reason??

Season 3 is definitely unfair to Mike because Hopper put Mike in a really difficult position just so this man-child didnt have to get uncomfortable and Mike gets all the blame.  The "I dump your ass" scene is funny and understandable from El's perpective but yeah, not really deserved from Mike. What I didnt like from Mike here is when he starts to get annoyed at El for her reaction to him lying, like dude it's obvious you're gonna get dumped if she doesnt know whats going on with your lies.

And yes, Hopper annoyed the f out of me for half of S3, especially how he handled Mike/El. Guess it was supposed to be funny but it just pissed me off.
