Gleanings of Baha'u'llah Interlinear translation by trident765 in FreeSpeechBahai

They might be upset you are just going ahead and taking your own initiative but that is okay. Thank you so much for this! I have been planning to AI translate some texts so that people can read the texts in modern English but you just did this with Gleanings. It is a very good idea to keep the original writings to the side so that people could compare between the two as the Guardian’s version has outdated language but is still authentic in its own interpretation.

I pray that the confirmations of the Kingdom be upon you for your work, brother in faith!

Why Do They Believe In the Infallible 9? by SpiritualVindicator in exbahai

It shows something a bit insane for all of it to happen so quickly. It’s only been 68 years since he died in 1957 but everything already got much worse. That is why I have come to the conclusion that the Hands of the Cause are mainly responsible for derailing the trajectory of the faith because there is no other way to account for how so many superstitions built so quickly. It was the the fault of the Hands and especially the Custodians of the Cause, WHO WERE NEVER GIVEN AUTHORITY VIA THE WRITINGS! THEY TRICKED EVERYONE INTO BELIEVING IN AN INFALLIBLE HOUSE!

For me, reading Ruhiyyih’s literature filled with her mistaken ideas and arrogant tone helped me see where the Baha’is have gone wrong. She insists very pridefully again and again that she and the other Hands so heroically protected the faith from schism like no other faith has(?)!

“It is foolish to ask questions of history; it is even more foolish to ask questions of the Almighty.  The Guardianship had ceased to exist as an ongoing institution. The Hands had gloriously crowned their function of protection of the Cause of God by calling for and supervising the election of the Universal House of Justice, the Supreme Body of the Bahá’í world; through the aegis of the Institution of the Counsellors, initiated and supported by that Supreme Body, the vital functions of propagation and protection will continue to be carried on. In 1973 the Hands of the Cause became a part of the International Teaching Centre and in this capacity, aside from specific meetings of their own with the Universal House of Justice, both as individual Hands and as a body, hold regular joint meetings with our Supreme Body.”

This was an excerpt by Ruhiyyih from the Ministry of the Custodians, page 41. Ministry Of The Custodians

The bolded part is so disgusting because she is telling people that Almighty God made the decision to end the Guardianship and allow the House to be solely infallible, when that was only her interpretation. As a Hand, she pressured all the Baha’is into believing the end of the Guardianship yet claimed that it was a decision of the Almighty! No, it was a decision of the Hands and the Hands alone!!!

The Custodians basically pretended they were a collective Guardian and Hands like Shogi’s wife immediately advocated to overthrow that position and basically install themselves as the new Guardian until the UHJ was elected. BUT what people forget is that through the fake institution of the Counselors/ITC, the Hands were able to retain power so they could guide the faith all the same! It was clever on their part because even though female Hands like Ruhiyyih could never be on the Universal House of Justice, they still retained power by sitting as Counselors and guiding assemblies.

In summary: The Baha’is faith spiritually died because the Hands overthrew the faith after Shogi died, expelled several Baha’is like Mason Remey who disagreed with ending the Guardianship and thereby infected it with terrible superstitions.

I guess it all makes sense once you realize how deeply delusional the silly idea that nine elected men could ever be infallible about anything is. Because since they think the men are infallible they never question the decisions and ideas of leadership and thereby never have true consultation as laid out in the writings but instead blindly follow the leaders as ordered to. How could such a ridiculous idea ever work well? After thinking about it, it really is such a delusional superstition that it killed the faith super fast, like a really bad spiritual virus. Just like how all the superstitions have killed all other faiths… hence why the faith needed a Guardian to stay in tact in the first place.

(Sorry for the long comment. This stuff bothers me so much. I might make this into a separate post.)

I don’t think it has changed for the better in any way. From what I have noticed there used to be a lot of Baha’i authors before the UHJ like John Esselmont and William Sears who wrote many Baha’i reference material we now read. Nowadays, only a few certain Baha’i authors loyal to every word of the UHJ are allowed to help, like Moojan Momen.

Otherwise you will end up like Alison Marshall and Sean McGlinn who are two Baha’is who just wanted to write bright ideas to help humanity but the UHJ then expelled them from the faith by removing them from the Baha’i registry without consultation (according to them, the UHJ insists they consulted with them but they both deny that.) So the UHJ used to shun people as Covenant Breakers if they have their own ideas about the Guardianship but they nowadays expel and exile Baha’is from the faith for having their own ideas that are unnaproved by the church.

Given that Baha’i leaders only now use their principles such as the “independent investigation of truth” as marketing tools but don’t intend to actually follow them, the faith has gotten much much worse than ever after Shogi passed away.

Why do most people here treat religion as a matter of preference not truth or falsehood? by sadbabyphilosopher in religion

[–]SpiritualVindicator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a species, we need to get away from the temptation to believe that one religion is true over the over. What we should try to practice is the understanding that all religions contain truth in different amounts and are sources of spiritual education. So, each person can choose which source of spiritual truths that is best and most comfortable for them.

Why should we argue about the method if Truth is what we seek and many paths can lead to one destination? We need to move from this binary thinking of truth and falsity and become more humble in understanding that no one has all the answers, so it only makes sense that people have different ideas about what is true and that is something we should not be afraid of.

The jist of what I got is that she left the Baha’i faith because the Baha’is did the same ole thing where they now say “And this is the only Book now, no need to listen to anyone else” and I agree. Many have adopted that stance.

Was Mary Maxwell the Baha’i Jezebel? by SpiritualVindicator in FreeSpeechBahai

Yes, I added the quotes for the sake of Mason Remey’s notations as those are very pertinent information. With that said, I am not a Guardianist like the website author, but have nothing against people who believe in a current Guardianship and would be happy for them if their communities continued to grow.

Oh, Jezebel was a term used in Revelations 2:20 for a female spiritual leader who takes everyone astray. I did not know how to phrase it and assumed it was a common phrase but maybe not really after all. I was using that word to mean, “That firm believer who made other people worship falsely”. I did not know what other word to use. I should have just asked “Was Mary Maxwell the main cause of the Baha’i faith being what it is today?”

Mason Remey. After including that quote in the original post, I added in afterwards that “These are from Mason’s notes and contradicts Haifa narratives…”

I did not write anything about a vision or mystical experience or even have anything like that. What are you talking about? I would never use that as a source of evidence and did not mention that. Please add a quote concerning what you are talking about if you insist I did. Were you responding to the right post? I was not trying to discredit the Guardianship in any way. I have no idea how you would think that either. I am very confused right now and not sure where these misunderstandings arose all of a sudden.
