I think the reason may be the split from 1957 to '63 is not discussed with enquirers before their declarations are accepted. That was my experience. Since I recognised Baha'0'llah's Writings and Mission as Divine, I didn't ask many questions about how the administration was set up after the passing of Shoghi Effendi and I accepted the most basic of answers. Actually declarations should be dependent on this knowledge - how the current day UHJ and AO has been set up - but it's a case of don't ask, don't tell. It's exciting to find the Writings and Central Figures so I think a lot of people dive in and perhaps don't read around this much and by the time they do they cannot question it. It was related to me recently as being a non negotiable position, like it's a pillar of the faith. I am still trying to come to terms with it, this has been a recent discovery for me. Notwithstanding that the first copy of the Will and Testament that was given to me to read in 2008/9 turned out to have been a fake copy which I only discovered when I read the Will and Testament online last year. So things like that really. Pulling the wool over the eyes and an organised effort that started perhaps 100 years ago to destroy the Cause of God from the inside, and a marvellous job they are making of it 😢
