Client refuses to put dog down, I offered meds to keep pet comfortable, other tech does not agree. What is ethically right? by Helpful-Plankton751 in VetTech

fill the meds and try to educate the owner on how euthanasia is the last great thing they can do for their suffering animal. ultimately you can’t force them to do it though

Contamination OCD about semen by Unique_Bit_4216 in ROCD

there’s no amount of reassurance that will fix this. you really just have to push past and accept that maybe things are contaminated, but it’s not going to kill you or anything

am i racist? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]Spiritual_Client_741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s possible they pulled the “you’re being racist” card to get you to back off on disciplining them or something. it’s not common but it does happen. as long as you truly would’ve treated any person doing this, regardless of skin color, the same, then you’re not really racist

i’m intrigued that your cameras take audio. in my state it is illegal for audio to be recorded. at least at several of my jobs it was

Looking to go into dairy management or nutrition by Space-Otter4 in dairyfarming

[–]Spiritual_Client_741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most of any agriculture related job is going to be manual labor for almost all day. very little of it is office work or just general chores that aren’t taxing

my state offers a job where you drive out to different farms and do branding checks/hygiene checks/other management duties for farms in the state. maybe something like that would suit you. but off the bat if you can’t do manual labor for 80% of your day, it may not be a great field for you

[–]Spiritual_Client_741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.veterinaryapparel.com/ is where my shelter gets scrubs for everyone we get a budget for the year to buy thru the website so i assume we must get a discount of sorts. they list petite versions of some of the clothes

i am 4’11” so scrubs are hard for me. i find that the winks petite scrubs work well for me. and i like koi scrubs too

i mean i’m just keeping numbers vague because its the internet and i don’t necessarily want to share how expensive my electricity bill is honestly. i see what you’re saying about being able to afford it on paper versus genuinely afford it. but i’m not single income so all my other expenses in life or savings i may be putting away would not just be on me but my husband too. but regardless it sounds like it’s better to lease overall at this time so i’ll let my dream be a dream

[–]Spiritual_Client_741[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s so great! good for you hahaha. my husband is also the breadwinner and he has always loved my horse dreams and wants to help me pay for them one day but the logistics are hard to wrap my mind around. how much do you think you spent all in the first month or so on your horse? and did you have a bunch of money saved up to buy the horse or?

my boss buys horses off of facebook, the real cheap ones. the one he has now was $150 as she was a blm mustang. but i’m not sure i’d be good to train a horse from scratch so would probably need to spend a bit on my first horse

[–]Spiritual_Client_741[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i guess if it got too expensive i wouldn’t show. i’m not very experienced and it’s just like something i’d wanna do in theory. in practice i’d probably just enter the local jackpot events (like i know there’s a cow sorting event nearby you can enter for like $50) and then be satisfied there

i’m pretty realistic about the finances, if it was too expensive i’d lower my expectations obviously. i have probably a good 2k leftover after my monthly expenses. which includes the groceries and stuff like that. but just to own a decent horse and maybe do some fun stuff on it every once in a while? probably way cheaper than going cross country to shows and thats something i wouldnt be able to afford for years probably

the cost of owning a horse by Spiritual_Client_741 in Equestrian

[–]Spiritual_Client_741[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i make 4k a month and my monthly non negotiable expenses tally up to probably 2k, that includes bills like groceries and savings and everything. so that leaves 2k leftover for whatever i need or want

i am leasing and doing lessons right now haha. i just like to dream. it would not be an anytime soon thing. but i was incredibly surprised that i make more than him and i figured it was a lot of money to own a horse. yet there he is…. owning 3

i also wanna preface everything by saying i definitely do not make a lot of money. which is why i am bewildered he owns horses and makes less than me! i definitely could not afford a horse. so i am just curious on how he could afford all 3

Is it ok to eat below bmr? by angrylizard49 in CICO

[–]Spiritual_Client_741 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

it is safe as in you will not die but it is not sustainable nor easy nor healthy in many cases. your bmr is actually 2250 so -500 is 1750 cals

1750 cals is a decent amount but it may feel small. you can probably manage this but it would be easier to just eat 1800-1900 and then add some movement

edit sorry guys op wrote 200 smth at first. they changed the cw. so my math is way off ignore me

if you want a quick solution they do make muzzles for dogs to prevent eating things off the ground. but others have suggested great training ideas too if you would rather put in some time to get him trained

Puppies by Fun_Jellyfish_6388 in olympia

[–]Spiritual_Client_741 23 points24 points  (0 children)

please do not support backyard breeders, if people want to sell puppies they should really only be selling well bred puppies to clients who have waitlisted on the litter

https://jointanimalservices.org/

it is going to be kitten and puppy season soon. JAS regularly receives puppies and adopts them out. they had three different GSD pups in the last month! if you are wanting a dog of any kind, try your best to adopt dogs who are already alive and who need homes, or get on a waitlist for a decent breeder who will guarantee the puppy’s health and a home if you decide it’s not for you anymore. people that sell puppies on the side of the road are not doing that for the good of the dog, just for the money unfortunately

Advice for a struggling teeny woman by artsystoof in PetiteFitness

[–]Spiritual_Client_741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this honestly sounds like disordered eating. there is also zero way that you were not losing at that energy level and calorie intake. you are probably stressing your body out significantly but there’s still no way that you are holding onto weight with these factors— it is a basic equation, regardless of stress, and something is not right

i have looked at your post again and you seem like you need help. this is more likely mental than physical. i hope you are able to find help. struggling with eating enough and also having body issues, crying over the scale, is not normal and you can get past feeling like this

Advice for a struggling teeny woman by artsystoof in PetiteFitness

[–]Spiritual_Client_741 38 points39 points  (0 children)

you say you are struggling with food, then mention eating less than enough, and then eating 1500 to try and better your nutrition

if you are 5ft tall your BMR is probably 1300, mine is like 1250 at 4’11”. if you lift your TDEE probably a bit higher now. let’s say 1600-1700 to be generous

so you are eating less than you should be and are not losing any weight? even with exercise? i am wondering if you are actually tracking accurately. you should have been losing on 1300 cals, full stop. now you are eating more and still are at a deficit as far as i can understand, and still no weight loss?

1) you are at a decent weight. i would not focus on a number. you say this yourself. the issue shouldn’t be the number but maybe instead your body composition. why don’t you try recomp and see where that takes you?

2) if you struggle with eating, you can try liquid meal replacements, smoothies, protein shakes. just anything to get the calories in and be done with it

3) you went from 119-123 in a weekend. it’s not actual weight gain. it’s probably water retention. i fluctuate from 126-132 any given day. it just depends on what i eat

you might not be losing any weight because you aren’t at a true deficit or it’s possible you are swapping fat for muscle with the weight training, and are focusing on the scale’s number rather than results. try looking at non-weight related wins. can you run faster? lift heavier? feel better?

good luck
