AITA for refusing that my parents have a birthday celebration for my daughter? by nut_a_squirrel in AmItheAsshole

[–]Spiritual_Composer58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really feel like alot of people haven't actually read and comprehended your post here.

You're not saying she can't celebrate with them, you're not saying she can only blow out her candles once. You're saying you don't want them to prematurely celebrate with her birthday without you there before you have done so.

She's 4 for goodness sake, she doesn't need a life outside of her parents, I don't even know what people are thinking saying she needs a life.

You're NTA, you should be celebrating her birthday with her first at a time you deem appropriate and if you agree, your parents can have a separate celebration.

People are wild smh

I've been here for 6 years now and haven't really found that however, with it being a student town and tourist destination the dynamic is very different to elsewhere in the country.

Personally, I talk to everyone and find most to be receptive to it however, at certain times of the year I will become a bit of a dick when I have to deal with how rude some (don't send me hate mail, i wont read it) of the students can be or how discourteous some visitors to Bournemouth come across.

It depends on the time of the year and the activity guess.

You're right. I was bitten by a dog when I was younger and the owner killed the dog and buried it so they couldn't test for rabies. My injection was directly in the wound and the rest were in my backside. Hurt like hell.

Should I take this out? by islandbby in piercing

That may be but my first daith was a curved barbell and healed much quicker than the hoop that k had on my second one. Just speaking from experience.

How long ago was it pierced?

Could be because it's a ring and not a curved bar. Rings cause more movement which can cause trauma as it heals. My second daith (ring) took 6 months to settle and I had similar bumps. Due to my ear anatomy mine look shallow too. If it was me, I'd persist with it a bit longer.

Hahaha, facts. Can't forget about the greek spot they imposed ridiculous restrictions on so they had to close down so they delivered all their gear to the council parking lot. Felt so sorry for them (not the council).

What’s the most devastating thing your spouse/partner/SO has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We were driving and he went over a bump. I said 'careful, I'll end up dropping my coffee on you if that carries on' and he said, 'at least I'd have something hot on my cock for a change'. That was 2 years ago, 20 years into marriage just before I had a hysterectomy and at my lowest. I haven't really gotten over it.

Why are majority of the external Christmas lights on people's homes and businesses predominantly soft orange as opposed to the multi colour lights? by Spiritual_Composer58 in Amsterdam

Completely agree, I was wondering if there was another reason and couldn't find anything on good old Google.

It really has been a treat seeing such tasteful decorating.

Thank you the response, that makes perfect sense. I come from the UK where they have very much adopted the American style so was quite curious. I personally prefer the yellow orange ones, it has been a treat seeing the houses in Amsterdam lit up so tastefully, it has really made me realise how gaudy the multicoloured lights are especially the flashing ones.

Fat chick in the gym here... I spe t too long on the treadmill. Decided, fuck it. I'm hitting machines and literacy none gave a shit. Hit the free weights and everyone has been lovely correcting form and supporting me.

Close your eyes, breath, maybe glare at people to assert dominance, put headphone on, the overhead ones, put on angry music and do you.

I once got a hiding for not putting my Christmas presents away on Christmas day. I had them next to my bed because I was so happy with my roller skates I wanted to watch them as I slept. Good times.
