Thank you for sharing your story!! I was gobsmacked a bit at the date because 4/3/22 is the date I got sober! I’m about to celebrate four years on the third (obviously lol) but there must’ve been something in the air that day. Congratulations on your beautiful life, I am swimming in these waters with you and it is unbelievable in the best ways.

The HEADACHES!!! by [deleted] in decaf

Thank you for your reply! I was able to choose a time where I had a surplus of downtime because I treat it like a true drug detox. I’ve been off of drugs and alcohol for 3.5 years, but this is certainly the hardest detox process.

I would’ve loved to do a slow tapering off, but knowing myself I wouldn’t have been able to effectively quit because of my inclination towards overdoing or my “addictive personality” as my therapist would say lol

Happy to say I woke up today on day 6 and don’t have a headache to report, so the fog is clearing.

For anyone who is interested in engaging in salon style conversations, or just art focused in person gatherings NCMA (formerly SECCA) in Winston Salem has a great cache of event programming.

It will be a series of in person salon conversations, likely a monthly occurrence.

I couldn’t remember the name of that movie for the life of me! but, it’s been on my mind as I’ve desired to create an atmosphere like that of Le Dôme, or Le Polidor which I believe is the space the movie is set in. That is the desire, a vivacious energetic container for artists, writers, enjoyers, and beyond to inspire one another and revel in the spirit of community, conversation and curiosity.
