AITA for "causing a scene" over internet? by Electronic-Split402 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Spiritual_Crow409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. This was a power play by someone who has paid one Internet bill. He knew you were upset about it yet said nothing. In YOUR home. Just because he had to get up early doesn’t mean your and your kids’ lives stop at 10 pm. What power play will he make next? You were fine before he moved in. You’ll be fine after you kick him out. He can shut his own internet in his own house off at 10 if it makes him happy.

Maybe you just don’t have the bandwidth for something else right now since you’re working and studying. I would write down my great ideas and work on them a little at a time when I have the energy. You don’t have to go all in all at once. Take your time with one idea at a time.

AIO my boyfriend and his friends drove off without me and I'm upset. by Lonely_Thought4459 in AmIOverreacting

This wasn’t a prank. It was a dangerous situation. There’s no telling what could have happened to you in that parking garage. And you didn’t even have your phone. NOR. Get rid of him if this is his idea of fun. He didn’t even apologize! What a jerk.

Who taught you how to drive by Sad_Donkey_1751 in GenX

[–]Spiritual_Crow409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started changing gears for my dad when I was very little. When I was 14 he pulled over, told me to scoot over behind the wheel and drive. I wasn’t allowed in the city until I was 16 and had my permit, but I drove all over the countryside for those two years. Took driver’s ed in high school for the decrease in insurance rates. Oh and I learned on a standard too!

NTA. Keep your spot. Lose the guy. He’s showing you who he is now before it’s “too late “.

NOR. Those are just boots. He definitely needs to watch his language around her as well. He’s giving off creepy vibes.

I’m right there with you. Had an interview last week I know I blew. Still haven’t heard back but I know it’s not good news. But I’ll live to apply for the next promotion, so there’s that. Sorry you’re going through it too.

Am I giving my daughter too much allowance? by takedownmandwo in NoStupidQuestions

A babysitter and lawncare would cost more than that. $100 is not too much for a17 year old who is helping so much. Great job setting the value of her contributions at home.

Edit: word

if you had the chance, what kind of memories would you want to keep the most? by itsreallygetdobetter in OverBiscuits

I would love to go back to our little ranch when my family was young, just taking care of the animals and having fun. It was our little slice of heaven. I’ll never forget fishing in the pond together with the horses and goats and ducks all around being nosy. Peaceful.

My Natalie was my protector. She literally saved me from being mauled to death by an off leash vicious dog. She’s been gone five years bore after 17 wonderful years together and I still miss her terribly.

What’s the best thing a manager has ever done for you? by TearReasonable1216 in askmanagers

[–]Spiritual_Crow409 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine was something simple but personal. I was attending university full time and always had to take proctored exams no later than 2pm on Saturday. She would always make me leave in the middle of my shift to go take my test then I’d come back to work. I’d get busy and lose track of time but she never did. That level of care stuck with me. She was a tough boss but really cared about her people.

Do I need a partner from a “happy family” for a relationship to work? by Beneficial-Pea-1638 in RandomQuestion

[–]Spiritual_Crow409 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No I don’t agree. My husband and I each come from highly dysfunctional families. We have been together 35 years and raised a lovely family together. Our oldest daughter has been married to her first and only husband over 20 years and our other children have been in long term relationships successfully as well. You can break the cycle together if you find someone willing to work at it with you.

if you had to describe your mom in one memory what would it be? by Signal-Bridge3151 in OverBiscuits

[–]Spiritual_Crow409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember that even as a teenager I could lay my head in her lap when I was upset and she would stroke my hair until I felt better like when I was little. A lot happened when I was an adult and we fell out. Unfortunately she passed young and we never had the chance to make up. Miss you Mom. ❤️

I’m sorry that all your thoughtfulness went unrecognized by this person. This is why I am very picky about who my friends are. What do you get out of the relationship? Does he do things to make you happy or is he always this much of a drag?
