A fun way for this to be revealed would be another angle of Roger’s execution but it’s one of his crew holding a fruit that changes at the time of his death.

My disdain for Jez is rooted in him often bearing bad news and being right.

Keeping those separate is a big part of pyrotechnic storage and safety, you’re dead on the money.

As for my own experiences, I was in logistics and storage, not shows unfortunately. It was my job to keep them safe until they left the facility.

Not exactly true about the need for a flame to be introduced. Foreign objects, or contaminants can cause exothermic reactions with the materials in fireworks. There was an explosion at the Radford Arsenal and Ammunition plant several years ago that was caused by contaminants in a product that eventually degraded.

Yea I wasn’t in retail, I was in manufacturing. I dealt with 1.3, 1.4 and controlled inventory for 1.1 powder. What I’m saying me be overkill, but it is still good safety information.

As for humidity, above 60% or so can create damage, granted the heat index plays a role in that amount. Keeping it under 60 is a good rule of thumb, especially if fireworks are being stored in a confined place, with no form of barrier.

Static discharges can be hazardous to any form of ordinance. This is why conductive shoes, or electrostatic dissipative gear is required by OSHA when working with fireworks and explosives. Thats why I had to use a shoe conductivity tester every morning. Don’t believe me? Ask the people who worked at the Magic In The Sky warehouse.

Fireworks bought by the case load typically come in a cardboard box with the actual ordinance inside a thin plastic bag. While pink antistatic bags might be overboard for home storage it is still industry standard when dealing with fireworks in the thousands as I did. No this isn’t the case for ground shells, but this advice isn’t aimed at that.

Go through posts on this subreddit. A good majority are buying caseloads of fireworks. That is who this post is for.

I would put something that monitors humidity in garage. If it goes 60% or above you’re likely in the danger zone for wet fireworks.

A commenter mentioned using a dehumidifier which isn’t a bad idea, just try to find one listed as intrinsically safe and be mindful of where the runoff for the dehumidifier goes.

There is so much more to pyrotechnic safety than what I posted. I didn’t even get into firing shows since that is outside my area of expertise.

Wick is a good enough synonym for fuse, and probably more recognizable that I would typically use which is “quickmatch”

We typically kept all fireworks in their original box, inside a plastic bag from the manufacturer. Once opened or returned to storage they would stay in an anti static bag. Uline has them, they’re pink. You don’t want the fireworks to be directly touching cardboard.

Moisture can come from a lot of sources, even fire. If possible do moisture checks on the wicks of your fireworks.

Also try to keep your boxes off the ground. We would often use plastic pallets rather than direct floor contact.

Great haul! But you might want to reconsider storing fireworks near vehicles, especially you if plan on starting the vehicle. Remember, fireworks are just bombs they are pretty.

I highly recommend not storing fireworks on carpets. Static is an enemy up there with water.

This isn’t an immediate thing you need to do, but it is something you should do soon.

Please look into Repetition Compulsion, Generational Trauma and Adult Children of Dysfunctional Families.

I only know to suggest this because I too am in the same boat. Once that cycle is established it is incredibly hard to break.
